Holiday in Death (In Death #7)
No one likes to be alone during the holidays. And for New York's most posh dating service, Personally Yours, it is the season to bring lonely hearts together. But Lieutenant Eve Dallas, on the trail of a ritualistic serial killer, has made a disturbing discovery: All of the killer's...more
It's getting predictable but I expected this when I started the series a couple of months ago so I'm not complaining just yet. Still, I hope I haven't spoken too soon as there were some lines that seemed taken right...more
I feel like the balance between the characters was better in this one. I continue to love Mira, and Feeney and Peabody. McNabb grew on me in this one. I liked him in the last one, but I liked him better in this one. And Eve's relationship with Sommerset was well d...more
The author does a fantastic job of keeping the tension and suspense up, along with a fast pace. Robb also manages to give us strong characterization while she spins a tale of mystery and death...more
It’s 2058 in New York and it’s the Christmas season. But there’s no time for Lieutenant Eve Dallas to take a break. There is a new killer on the loose and this one is focusing on lonely hearts. All his victims are clients of a dating service. And, to really get into the holiday spirit, he shows up on his victims’ doorsteps dressed as old St. Nick himself. But the presents he leaves are anything, but merry. He leaves jewelry with his victims that go with the 12...more
เล่มนี้เป็น Theme Christmas
Setelah cuti cukup lama, menghadapi kasus pemerkosaan ini membua...more
Let me just get this out of the way. I find Eve Dallas to be one of the most loathsome female characters in any successful series going today. She is verbally and emotionally abusive to anyone who cares about her, including her hot husband. If I worked for her I'd reques...more
The story is interesting and well written. There is a good intermingling between solving the case and Eve's personal life. Robb gives a few suspects for us to look at but does not reveal the true murderer until the end of the book. If you are looking to solve a mystery along with Eve then you will be disappointed since you cannot solve this book on your own. The ending of the book is quite suspenceful and has a great conclusion. As usual there were a few sex scenes b...more
The development of these characters is continuing to move along, and it's gratifying to see how Eve is evolving from cop to friend/wife along the way. While she's still uncomfortable expressing herself, her relationship with Roarke is beginning to feel less one-si...more
These books are so good. It amazes me how the quality never dips. The cast of characters steadily grew throughout the first three books, and now you just grow to love each character that much more with each book.
Roarke and Eve are in a good place, but Eve still struggle...more
This story has the most sexual scenes between Roarke and Eve that I've seen in any of the books so far! Wow. I did begin skipping them after a while, I think because I'm not used to them in these books? But yeah... quite a...more
There are a string of serial type murders happening around Christmastime and the only link between the deaths is the dating service, Personally Yours, that all the victims used. All of the murders are sexual homicides and they really seem to hit Eve hard. Luckily, she has some really great people around her to take care of her. Eve doesn’t accept their help easily an...more
It's Christmas time and Christmas is a holiday that Eve finds...more
No one likes to be alone during the holidays. For New York's most posh dating service, Personally Yours, it is the season to bring lonely hearts together. But Lieutenant Eve Dallas, on the trail of a ritualistic serial killer, has made a disturbing discovery: all of the victims have been traced to Personally Yours. As the murders continue, Eve enters into an elite world of people searching for their one true love--and a killer searching for his next victim. A world where the power of love leads
She never had a traditional Christmas when she was growing up, but this year, Eve’s new husband Roarke is determined to give her just that. The author is very good at showing the humor that is to be found in this situation when Eve is confronted with all the things that make her uncomfortable – holiday parties, gift giving, dressing up, etc…
That part of the story pro...more
I did like how the characters relationships continue to evolve. It had type of homey feeling to this book and made me look forward to the holiday seasons. This book made me angry, made me cry and I felt the love between the characters.
I did not like the repetition of Eve pushing Roarke away while he wanted to try and take care of her. Too much repetition. I did not care for the ending. It should have ended with all...more
And yet, you tell J.D. Robb to write a Christmas book and SHE FITS ALL OF THE THINGS INTO IT.
I don't know how she does it. I really don't.
Roarke and Eve continue to seduce me with the growth and super hot sexy of their...more
There are some annoyed misspelling; some sentences use repetitive words/words with the same meaning. Anyhow still I choose to get the next one ASAP rather than bothered with that editor matters.
This installment is really enjoyable. The Christmas scene (twelve days before Christmas), big Christmas party at Roarke-Eve’s, new improvement of ‘She-body’ and Mc Nab relationship and of course the...more
Eleanor Marie Robertson was born on October 10, 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland, U.S.A. She was the youngest of the five children, also the only girl, of a marriage with Irish ancestors. Her family were avid readers, so books were always important in her life. She attended a Catholic school and credits the nuns with instilling in her a sense of discipline. During her sophomore year...more
