5 stars aren't enough for the romance of a lifetime! This had to be one of the most romantic tales I ever read and the best thing about it is - IT'S ALL TRUE!

This is the story of Clyde Latham (the author's father), an octogenarian who falls in love with Gussie Lancaster, a childhood acquaintance who he loved "since he was 3 years old". The couple behave like love-struck teenagers and live "happily-ever-after"!

My sister gave me this book for Christmas in 2000 and there it sat, on my bedside table, ignored and forgotten. I ran out of library books this week, an occasional occurrence, and out of desperation opened this book. And am I glad I did.

I did find Aaron, the author and son, a little over the top in worrying about his dad, sweet maybe but come on, his dad's an adult, survived working, raising children and a 50 year marriage and still living on his own. I'd say he's definitely a survivor.

Recommends it for: my book club friends
A memoire about elderly love. When I wasn't reading this book, I looked forward to getting right back into it. It is short and oh so sweet. I bet each of you could fit this in and would really enjoy it! I have a copy to borrow!
