Lilia Shevtsova provides an interesting look at how Russia changed from the fall of the Soviet Union under the leadership of Boris Yeltsin and Vladamir Putin. Both left their own mark on Russia and were instrumental during their time in shaping the course of Russia. I used this book for my Russian history coursework which was on terror. For this topic the book provided some good insights however felt lacking in other areas
