I've never really been a fan of camping stories. I'm just not a 'happy camper.' And, apparently, Agnes doesn't think she will be either! Agnes Parker, Happy Camper is both loveable and dislikeable. Its storytelling and twists make the book better than it seems, yet at the same time can make a picky reader sick! I, however, enjoyed it, but in consideration of those picky readers decided against the 5-star idea.

For my free choice novel, I read Agnes Parker…Happy Camper? by Kathleen O’Dell. I really liked this book and would highly recommend it for girls in late elementary school or middle school. I gave this book 5 stares because i really liked it because Agnes Parker went to science camp and while they were there with prejean is becaus they wanted to get into the same cabin. but then they didnt and they got mad at eachother then they became friends. this was a strange but good book.

Fun times, camp pranks, and a very weird bunkmate all play a role as Agnes continues to become the girl she hopes to be, and maybe... a happy camper?
