A rich and vivid evocation of the life among the Ballets Russes dancers by one of the insiders. Lydia Sokolova is a keen observer and her book is both a document and a reflection on the fascinating times.

Great for historic details of what the dancers wore for rehearsals and ballet classes and bringing to life the everyday experience of traveling and dancing with the Ballets Russes. Very much a memoir with the author's point of view.
