I found this book at the bottom of a shelf I was cleaning out, and decided to read it. I was thinking it was one of the earlier 1900's stories I'm partial to where characters learn and grow. While there was a lot of learning and growing, I was disappointed when it went a direction I did not like, (3/4th of the way in, of course). Ms. Seifert wrote more than 80 novels during her lifetime.
