This book has a lot of good ideas about different toys to make with cloth, wool and wood, but I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner. While there are suggested patterns (I need patterns!), the author does assume that a person knows basic sewing, knitting and woodworking skills. I'm getting some good ideas for nature table figures to make, and perhaps I'll even try a marionette with silks and wool. I'd like to get some lessons in whittling before I attempt any of the woodworking projects.
