Dugout comes with a CD of Allen's live performance, but it would still be an interesting read without. This book is straight-up Americana - from baseball to jazz to alcoholism to installation art (with some my ignorant estimation) photos thrown in for good measure - told in off-beat, often first-person narrative. A quick and enjoyable read, I would say this book should be read first without the accompaniment of the CD, and then savored with.
