And then there was one...

When psychologist Damian Steele killed off the nasty half of his dual-personality patient, he never expected that the 'widow' would file a wrongful-death suit. Nor did he expect that a breathtaking beauty would be his saving grace.

Attorney Kay Kellogg had handled some unusual civil cases at Justice Inc., but Damian's was definitely setting a new p

When psychologist Damian Steele "kills" off one of his client's personalities he never expects to be sued by the deceased "man's" wife. His attorney, Kay Kellogg, is excited by the chance to try such an interesting case and is determined to win but is fighting obstacles every step of the way. It seems her sexy client is keeping too many secrets - secrets that may cost her not only the trial but her life!

This was a very interesting story about multiple personalities. Normally I'm bored by courtro

This book is great! Kay is a lawyer and she was assigned to Damian ((oohh what a nice name)), a psychologist. He was accused of killing a deadly person on another person. Ahh..confusing, huh? Better read the book yourself though I doubt there's any copy anymore...

Anyway, it was awe-some! But I did crave for more excitement.

I have been an M.J. Rodgers fan since the 1990s, when I read "To Have vs. to Hold" in the Justice Inc. series. I loved the courtroom drama in this book, and the complex plot about someone with alternate personalities. I enjoyed how the beauty and the beast theme meshed with the rest of the plot. Kay was feisty and competent, and Damian had some secrets, but he was a complex and multi-dimensional character as well.
I wish I could skim this because the deeply weird set-up is kind of interesting, but there's so much tiresome mystery/suspense stuff and a lot of really irritating characters. Not my thing.

M.J. was one of those lucky children whose mother read to her every night, filling her imagination with the magic of brave heroes and smart heroines overcoming adversity to ensure their own happy endings. From as early as she can remember she wanted to be a writer so she could give readers that same kind of pleasure that had been given to her by the creators of those wonderful stories.

But M.J. is
