Very good continuation of the adventures of Andreas Doppler. Loe's voice is surely a unique one and in this one the narrative swings from comic and philosophical gold to treading the fine line between slight absurdity (which I adore) and that hideous flavor of slapstick that for some reason prevails in this part of the world (which pains me physically). The few times where he toes over that line is the sole reason I'm withholding the last star.

Doppler, who left home for the woods together with

Veseli me dodatno pripremljen teren za treci nastavak...

Fantastisk!

I was just cheerful while reading this book. Even though I usually don't like postmodernist techniques, I didn't mind them here. Love the characters. The ending was a little weird, but that was expected...Really great read, enjoyed every page. I love the short sections, author's comments and asterisk additions...

crazier than the other books. maybe his least good book. I can't decide whether the involvement with the author is interesting, or just annoying.

OMG! Tko me je tjerao...?!

Den ...more

Reading "Volvo Lastvagnar", or "Doppler 2" as you might think it to be, and expecting a novel similar to the first Doppler book would probably be slightly disappointing. The second book featuring Doppler's life is nothing like the first. Doppler is present in the book, no fear, but so are a lot of other new central characters and, not to be overseen, the author, thus introducing metafiction to the world of Doppler and friends. In several chapters of the book the author and his thoughts on writin ...more

This is simply a wonderful and quirky book. Loe is genial in his use of footnotes and the people are just as odd and lovable as you would wish. I cannot understand how anyone comes up with a book like this, but I am sincerely happy that someone did. This is life enhancing reading at its best. (I almost used an exclamation mark in the end, but I think I have used mine up according to Loe.)

This is my second book with Doppler, his moose and his mostly absent family. I can understand him tiring of being capable and efficient. But to tell the truth I got a little tired of him and needed to pause for a few weeks in the middle of the book.

And Maj-Britt and von Borring are not characters the reader (me) warmed to. I did think both were sympathetic, and crazy; but they were borderline unbelievable - and mostly on the other side of the border.

I don't konow if Loe's read Laurence Sterne,

Tang / Maria & José / Naïef. Super. / Doppler / Volvo Vrachtwagens.

My second Loe's book, after Doppler obviously. Despite Doppler becoming less weird with this one (maybe I've got used to him or there are more weird people around him), the book itself is just as abnormal. In a good sense. Very unorthodox, both in a style and a story, with writer himself "entering" the story almost regularly and being the main character in this short novel. Thinking back, I think parts about writer, about writing itself and literature's connections with other art forms and life ...more

– Killing in the name of“ fakt sadlo :) .)
