This was one of the most incredibly stupid book I have read all year!
Okay let me rephrase that, it was the most extremely stupid book I have read in my whole entire life.
I admit I laughed at one part. I can see the appeal to 4th graders but I think this book tops even Harry Potter for being over rated and dumbing down a whole generation of young readers!
If you enjoy these books then I suggest you take it to the next level and read a classic. How about the Hardy Boys or Swiss Family R...more

I loved this book because it makes you intereact with it.It wants the kids to say the sounds. It askes them to flip pages. I am a believer that a book you can interact with is one that you will enjoy. It is my hope that kids enjoy reading.
The only problem I have with this book is not the "potty humor" but the disrespect shown for authority in school. The boys don't behave for their teacher nor their principal. I feel that it could have still been writen without that part and it...more

So far, this is my favorite of the Captain Underpants books. When the lunch ladies in the comic book were able to leap tall buildings using the “gassy after-affects of their ‘Texas-style’ three-bean chili con carner,” I laughed out loud for a really long time.

My son has read the entire series and I'm now officially hooked. I can only hope the series doesn't lose it's imaginative edge. Some may say it's overly simplistic but I say anything that gets a child excited over a book is a good thing.

I'm reading this with my elementary school reading buddy (a once-a-week program where I visit and read with him during lunch), and nothing is so fun as his reactions to all the gross-out jokes. And it's actually a fun read for me too!

This is a nice series for the target age group, but this is the second one I read and I didn't get as many laughs as from the first one, so I expect I'm done with them.
