Loooooooved this book. Everything I've felt about literacy in this country and have ironically not been able to articulate is explained here. Long before Blink got buzz, this book provided an analysis of soundbite culture. The analysis of Reagan-era speeches is downright illuminating. It's fantastic to me as a composition instructor, in that it effectively explains the struggles I face every semester. The saddest part is that I found the hardcover at a dollar store. Ah, well.
