I have been causually looking for a good embroidery technique book and have found it!!!! This is the best book I've seen yet- though that doesn't mean there isn't a better one- but I really liked this one. The book contains SOOOO many stitches, great photos and pretty clear instructions. The book is going back to the library, but at some point I want to try some more complicated embroidery and I now have a text to turn to. So- for all you embroidery fanatics out there- here you go- and for t...more
Pretty comprehensive book on Embroidery. Good instructions on types of stiches. A great reference book.
Decent collection of embroidery stitches, organized by stitch "family". The instructions were easy enough to follow once I got started, but I sort of had a major gripe with the photographs. The stitches in the photos are very small, and are similar colors for thread & fabric. The labeling of A, B, C, etc for entry & exit of the needle were helpful, but I wish there were better photos of, say, stem stitch than tiny little pink stitches on pink fabric. Harumph.
