This was a very competent, serviceable book. I used it as a supplement to other history books that I have been reading recently. I was surprised to find that the most interesting maps were not of invasions or migrations, but rather the recent maps of where the victims of the 7/7 bombings came from, or what countries various fresh produce comes from. Just looked at 5th ed. and goes through 2012 hosting of Olympic games.
