This book takes a look at the career and films of JF up to around 1970. Frankenheimer had made most of his greatest films by this point, and his career became increasingly erratic thereafter, but in 1970 he was still rightly regarded as one of the best filmmakers around. Although Pratley is the credited author, around 60% of the book is JF talking, and what he has to say is consistently interesting and well-articulated.
