Grace Wallace left her job in the big city and took over being police chief after her father died. In the small, sleepy town of Clayton, Pennsylvania nothing truly bad has ever really happened. But with four deaths in as many weeks she knows something serious is going on. Grace is worried about the similarities between these new killings and those of a cannibalistic-vampire-wannabe she’s come across in her previous job. Also seeming t...more

My Review:

This was a book that I enjoyed reading. While living and working as a detective in Philadelphia, Grace and Ian worked on a serial killer case together. That was a case where the killer was delusional and thought himself to be a vampire. They became involved and had sex, after which Ian left and broke Grace's heart. She thought they were going to last forever. Now, Grace has relocated to her hometown to nurse her broken heart and to take over her deceased father's job as sheriff. She's...more

I bought this book so my review is going to be as objective as you can get.
Surprisingly this was a very decent vampire book, and I've read heaps of them. Probably nothing novel to the fans of the genre but the all the characters were convincing (well, maybe except the villain but they do tend to be one-dimensional maniacs) and the plot keeps you in suspence until the very end. The vampire hero is just the way I like them: part human and part monster, with the human part winning. All the same, he...more

I have read quite a few vampire books, I love the paranormal romance genre, I just do so of course when I saw this book I knew I needed to read it.

I will say, even though I have read quite a few books about vamps, this one is completely original. From the characters to the situation to the views about vamps, this is one you don't want to miss out on.

I had so much fun reading this, in fact I read it in less than a day. I just got completely caught up in the storyline with the mystery of the seria...more

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

The Hunter's Angel was different from a lot of vampire novels out there. The main characters consisted of a Ian, a Vampire FBI agent, who was also a vampire hunter, and Grace, a human police chief who were teamed together to track down a serial killer. It's not often you find a vampire who hunts his own kind. He was charming and the chemistry was strong between them. Of course you also have an additional guy or two who are trying to get Grace's attention as we...more

This was an interesting twist to the paranormal vampire romance. duBois created great characters that keep you wanting more. The storyline of a Vampire FBI agent and Chief of Police working together is original and intriguing. I did feel that I was missing something throughout the book but overall thought is was good. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and more from Cera duBois.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book for review purposes only through Bewitching Book Tours. I...more

A vampire hunter who is a vampire? Now there’s an oxymoron for you. And if that’s not odd enough his mate is human… a frail, short lived human. But that isn’t the worst of his problems.

A former big city detective, she helped find a serial killer that thought he was a vampire and drank human blood. After all the drama of the big city, with a broken heart, she returned home to care for her father when he was ill and now she’s the Chief of Police. She was never going to see him again…. Until he w...more

A Hunter’s Angel is a book that was missing another book. I spent a good chunk of time thinking this book was the second in a series because every single thing was based off events that happened prior to the book starting. Because of this there are a ton of flashbacks throughout the book that I think would have been better justified as a first book in a series.

Grace has come back home to a new job and just after she gets settled in the bodies start piling up at her doorstep. Calling in the FBI s...more

This is a book that kept me interested to the very end. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep me wondering and plenty of romance and sex to keep me entertained. In this new world of whose vampire does what, I'm not sure about some of the qualities she gives to them. That said, I would read another book by her in a minute.

Cera duBois has a strong belief in never giving up on your dreams…

Although Cera was unable to read due to dyslexia and a learning disability until she was in the fourth grade, she always had a story to tell. She wrote her first novel in eleventh grade when she had to keep a journal for her academic English class. Since her life was far from exciting growing up as a farm girl in West Central Pennsy...more
