Too dramatic for me. Like in a bad soap opera way.

I liked Noah a LOT. Eve was... okay. I dunno. I don't really have anything else to say on the matter.

Zach and Casey.

You know, I don't even know what to say. Kathryn Shay writes VERY FLAWED characters. Like in a am-I-supposed-to-be-routing-for-this-person? kind of way... I liked Zach even though I kinda hated him. Same with Casey. (And EVE for that matter.) Zach started cheating on his first wife 4 months after they got married. He was sleeping w

This book was a little hard for me to get through.. I liked Zach from the first book and wanted to read more about him but didnt know about Casey. I liked Noah immediately in book 2 but wasnt sure about Eve.. Then I read on and the book almost became a DNF.. When I readthe part where (view spoiler) ...more

I loved the first book in this series so very much and was loving this one until the last quarter. Shay went and wrote in a couple of my dealbreakers and made me want to toss this book across the room!!! I give it three stars for the first three quarters of the book and the ending.

I will have to read the third one to see what happens, but I'm seriously annoyed. How can you write two characters' redemptions if they continue to make the most heinous choices?? The redemption comes from facing that

Kathryn Shay has taken that small town feel and captured it within the firefighter community. It's a place where everyone knows everyone else whether they're from the same firehouse or not. They may not always get along but they respect the fact that their fellow firefighter is there when they need them. That's why it's so hard for an outsider to come in and question the ability of one of their own. For Eve Woodward, that's exactly what she needs to do. Question the abilities of a respected fire ...more

On The Line: Hidden Cove Firefighters series Book Two is by Kathryn Shay. It is another hit in her series. Again it is hard to stop reading, even to sleep.
Something is going on in Hidden Cove’s firefighters. Either Noah Callahan has been deliberately causing things to happen to firefighters or someone is out to frame him. With everyone loving Noah, it is hard to believe that he is responsible for the deaths of ten of his firefighters and injuries to others. Eve Woodward from the Office of Fire

This book is a wonderful up to After the Fire, tying up the questions we were left with. Chief Callaghan comes under investigation by the state head office. The officer they send to investigate him likes to think that she is fair, but at the same time being a woman in a male dominated field, she admits she may be too easily deceived by the small town family closeness of the fire department looking for a string of 'good old boys network. Though the more she gets know the chief, the more damning ...more

In book two of her series, we are introduced to Eve Woodward who has come to town to investigate a trend in fires/arsons/accidents that has been plaguing the fire department and particularly the fire chief Noah Callahan. Noah, introduced in the previous book, is a genuinely nice guy, but does he actually have a 'bad' side to him?

Casey Brennan is an outsider in the fire department. Rumors are constantly flying about her and her sexual conquests, she has a 'don't care' attitude - but Zach Malvaso

Wow, this was an intense story. Where the first story seemed to focus on relationships, this one seems to take that a step further and focus on loss, redemption, PTSD, and healing. The main story line is about Fire Chief Noah Callahan and an investigation into why there have been a multitude of equipment failures or problems and what appears to be cover-ups/kickbacks. Someone is out to make cause Noah to lose his job and his good name and they don't care about the innocent lives they put in ...more

so loving this series, and though ive read the novellas just recently that follow this series im tempted to go back and reread lol.. only cos the characters from this series will make sense now!

Though saying that the Novellas make sense on their own.

Anyway this book was Zach - one of the brothers from Book 1 story and Noah the Fire Chief, who is being investigated over the Fire from beg Book 1 to faulty equipment in house.

If i had met Zach before the fire probs would have hated him on sight, but

Book two in the series and I will be reading all the books. Fire Chief Noah Callahan has a lot of things happening in his department that he does not understand what is going on, he is now being investigated by Captain Eve Woodward from the Office of Fire Prevention and Control. What is happening will Noah lose his job? Can he prove his innocence ? Who is trying to frame him? Will Eve and Noah get a happy Ending? This story is also about Zack who we met in the first book and female firefighter ...more

Exceptionally good.

Kathryn Shay is a marvelous storyteller who really does her homework and writes a realistic portrayal of the trials and tribulations of being a firefighter. This series is everything I look for in a great read, with memorable characters and a dynamic storyline that keeps me entertained and a romance that touches my heart. Absolutely awesome!

The second book in Kathryn Shay's firefighter series. This novel centers primarily around Noah Callahan and Eve Woodward and many of their scenes are highly addicive, but many of my favorite parts are between Zach Malvaso and Casey Brennan. And the best part? Mitch is in this one, too! lol

This was a good book, but I didn't feel as connected to the lead characters Noah & Eve and Zach and Casey as I did with Mitch & Megan and Grady & Jenn.. For some reason I found it slow at times, that said however, I already have book three downloaded on my IPad to read.

I was excited that I finally got the book and couldn't wait to start reading, but I was a bit disappointed. If I can't go through the first chapter I won't give the book a chance.

Maybe, I will try to read this again, but not soon.

My main 'problem' was the writing style. I don't know why, but the writing did me in. It wasn't that it was bad or anythin.

Kathryn Shay is a lifelong writer. At fifteen, she penned her first 'romance,' a short story about a female newspaper reporter in New York City and her fight to make a name for herself in a world of male journalists - and with one hardheaded editor in particular. Looking back, Kathryn says she should have known then that writing was in her future. But as so often happens, fate sent her detouring ...more
