It's time for bed for all the babies from the teeny, tiny baby mouse, to the long eye-lashed baby calf, to the curly haired baby. And Mommy or Daddy (it doesn't specifically say) is there to wish each baby animal goodnight. I find that a lot of bedtime books feature mommies putting their child to bed and really love that it doesn't say if the animal parents are Moms or Dads and when it gets to baby going to bed (baby could be a boy or girl) it doesn't show the parent saying goodnight.

I only give it three stars because it is not totally accurate. For example, it says, "it's time for bed, little sheep, little sheep. The whole wide world is going to sleep" I know they needed this to rhyme but first of all, baby sheep are not called sheep but lambs--it teaches children the wrong word. And secondly, the whole wide world is not asleep. In France, they could be just waking up!

I know, I know, I'm a big dork. But this truly is one of the best bedtime books I have found so far. Very simple yet endearing. It has a nice cadence that makes it easy to read and lots of ways to get the baby involved ("what happened today that made you laugh?" "hold your breath & make a wish"). Willy & I "read" it (I know it by heart now!) every night and I love that cuddle time!

This is one of the sweetest and most darling books I've ever used as a bedtime story. When I was little my mom read it to me and now I read it to my brothers. It is quiet and has a poetic flow, very suitible for early memorization. The pictures are awesome also!

This is the 3rd in a trio of books that we read to each of my sons for about a year at a time (around age 1-2). This was my least favorite of the 3, and I took to singing it to amuse myself, but I was still able to read it over and over for 2 separate years!

If I've been to your baby shower, you probably know I love this book--I can't count how many families I've given it to. Beautiful paintings and rhyming text make it the sweetest bedtime book ever!

Elliot enjoys this book because of the many different animals. Any time we can make animal sounds, it's a good time. The illustrations are very nice.

My nevvy Vincent loves this one. In my picture, I'm reading it for the second time in a row to him. More, more [again, again] he says.

Perfect bedtime book for a toddler - short rhymes and animals on each page, but the best part is the gorgeous illustrations.

We read this to Daisy every night - several times a night on some occasions. It's my favorite part of her bedtime routine.
