I Love Dogs: Super Sturdy Picture Books by Barney Saltzberg features a toddler and seven dogs, with a variety of behaviors.

Saltzberg's illustrations were done in pencil, ink and acrylic paint. The cartoon-like drawings work well for this story. My favorite images are walking, size, tricks, see-saw, couch, noses to paws, and last picture.

My husband read this to my daughter for bedtime. Another book that she picked out for herself. Very cute book and cute illustrations. Our daughter loves dogs too. We are trying to raise her to love all animals.

Pretty typical book targeted toward toddlers. Predictably generic rhyming text and cute, simple illustrations. Probably the best thing about the book is the sturdy construction. Otherwise it's nothing special.

This is a fabulous storytime book. Bright, simple illustrations, easy to follow text, and lots of chances for kids to interact and play along. I use it every time I do a storytime about dogs, and it's always a hit.

Emma loves dogs, and therefore loves this book. There's nothing amazing about it, but it rhymes, and there are lots of canine illustrations, so dog-loving kids will love it.
