Dr. Seuss has created yet another amazing children’s book. This book not only shows the different colors and how they make people feel, but it also has a rhyming melody that is fun for students to sing along with. He uses different animals to depict all of the different colors. For example, he says, “Then comes a yellow day. And, weeeeeee I am a busy, buzzy bee." I really fell in love with this book because it is so different from many of the other Dr. Seuss books and has a very raw an More...

I'll say it again(as a mom and teacher, witha background in psychology), Ted Geisel(Dr. Seuss), is a genious. This seems like a cute colorful book, but it has deep meaning and many uses. It is said that Ted was depressed or bipolar, I do not know about that, but book would suggest so. My many colors are moods, and helps children understand their feelings in a childlike way...colors! Pink, happy, brown,angry,blue,sad....they can relate. It is also a great activity for parents and teacher to More...

This was a great Dr. Suess, unlike any of his other books I've read. Suess wrote the book and it wasn't published until after his death. The illustrations in this book really make it "come alive" to readers. The book describes the narrator and the types of days he has, based around color. For example, the boy has "yellow" days--these days are happy and bright. However, he also has "brown" days, which leave him feeling low. Young children can enjoy this book be More...

One of my big priorities in parenting is nurturing my children's emotional intelligence, and this book explains the variety of moods in a simple and nonjudgmental way, even so far as to say sometimes it is a combination of all sorts of emotions and that can leave you feeling turned around. The best part is that it ends with equananimity, and reassures children that no matter what emotion you have at the moment, it eventually goes away and you'll feel like yourself again. That's the kind of hope More...

This luminous book describes and illustrates the many feelings and emotions that people can go through in a day, a week, or an hour. Each color is associated with a different emotion. The vivid paintings capture the highs of a yellow “busy, buzzy bee” day and the lows of a gray, motionless day. The narrator points out that sometimes you can have such a mixed-up day that you just don’t know who or what you are, but that in the end it’s ok, because you will always be you.

So simple, yet so poignant. I love the illustrations, even though they are not Seuss'.

I got this from the library today. When I saw it on the shelf I did not think it was a Dr.Seuss book and almost did not pick thebook up. That just shows you really cannot judge a book by its cover. The pictures in the book look like something children would draw and I think that is part of why my children find it intriguing. The ryming helps the story flow and teaches kids about colors and helps them use colors to relate their feelings.

"But when my days are Happy Pink it's grea More...

I know, I know - you're going "Isn't Seuss already for little kids?" A lot of people think that - that's why they get Green Eggs and Ham for their two year olds.

Unfortunately for them, most of the Seuss canon is for early readers, or even older. These books are too long for babies and toddlers to sit through, and some of them are even a little frightening for more sensitive children (I'm continually perturbed by my five-year-old niece's terror of Horton Hears a Who, but sh More...

This book was so much fun to both read and look at! It goes through the many emotions that we all feel at some time. The thing that makes this book so cool is it connects certain colors with certain emotions. For example, when he is feeling "purple" he is feeling sad and "low low low." It really makes the reader aware of how colors affect our moods. This is great read and it will really surprise you how different this Dr. Seuss book is than the rest of his work!

My Many Colored Days is not your typical book from Dr. Suess. In this story we follow a boy that associates many different colors with his many different moods. This is a great story that helps children tap into their feelings. Also, it gives children the chance to compare how certain colors make them feel to how certain characters make the narrator feel. This is a wonderful book that SO many lesson plans can be derived from.

This book is AMAZING! It is a great way to show children different ways they can choose to express themselves. This book provides examples of different colors and the moods associated with each.

Activities:
- Have student identify their current mood with a color.
- As a whole class create an emotions chart. Have students draw a facial expression that corresponds with different emotions.

This book was very interesting Dr. Seuss book. It wasn't like the other Dr. Seuss books at all. However, this book was great. It showed different colors and possible feelings or objects that color can portray. The illustration is nice with very bright colors. This book would be great teaching children about colors and what kind of mood each color presents.

Exemplifying and un-Suess-like text, Lou Fancher set out to honor Suess' wishes: Design a beautiful book where color and shape tell the story instead of the words. Once you understand that piece, you understand the format of the book. The way Fancher conceptualized of, and played with, the representation of color and shape as meaning is excellent.

This is another great book by Dr. Suess. Great to teach students about colors and feelings! The colors each represent a different feeling that humans go through. The words in the text are written with the inflection the author wanted us to use when reading the story. The rhyming text and great paintings make this book a wonderful choice!

All right little color book. Not what you might think of when you think of Seuss since it was published after his death, so the illustrations are different and the rhymes a lot simpler. However, Seuss is often too long for younger kids and this one might actually fit the bill for the preschool set.

This is a great beginner's book about colors. Actually, this book can really relate to all ages because of the symbolism of each color representing a different mood. This book is very symbolic of how we all feel different moods each day. But, we always go back to being our regular colorful self! Love it!

This book is a different type of dr.seuss book's. He wrote this book about the way different colors made him feel. It is a short rhyming but meaningful book about colors. Dr.Seuss writes in a new way in this book. I like the way he expressed feelings and realted them to all the colors.

Reviews colors in bold monochromatic oils, with accompanying moods and responses discussed. Good discussion starter for how people respond to color, weather, SAD; does the weather provide the mood/response, or does the mood provide the surroundings/response? Good storytime book.

This book has beautiful illustrations which capture the essence of the feeling being described. It doesn't pass judgement on feelings or describe them as positive or negative, but simply gives an idea of what effect thay have using very simple text and powerful images.

This is a book that has rhyming, animals, beautiful illustrations, and colors. All of these elements are comprised to show how a different color can describe how you and feel and what you do. Great to teach students rhyming, animals, and colors.

Not your typical Dr. Suess book. The illustrations are not done by Dr. Suess--but I like them. I loved the rhymes, illustrations, and analogies. We picked this up in the hospital playroom and it was a perfect book for us at the time.

I love the idea of this book; that different colors express our moods. I know some days I feel happy hot-pink, some days a deep blue... I'm not sure I totally loved the illustrations but they are very vibrant and fun.

I bought this book to give to Scott's neice, Hannah for her second (third?) birthday. I don't know if she ever "read" it or not, but Scott's mother liked it. :) Those were happy days.

We are all each color at sometime or another. Our days and weeks and months and years are filled with the ups and downs of life represented by each color of the rainbow. I love this book.

This book shows a lot of different colors and talks about the color you may be according to your mood. It is catchy with its ryhming and would be a good tool in teaching children colors.

Great book for kids and adults re: emotions. I miss Seuss' artwork, but the artwork it has is brightly colored with a soft pastel, watercolor style, and I'm glad they published the book!
