The description suggests it ends the argument but it falls short of that goal, particularly in light of the DNA testing conducted nearly 20 years after this book was written. But the book does conveniently summarize much of the documentary evidence. The author, a direct descendant of Jefferson's sister, wrote this book partly in response to Fawn Brodie's "psycobiography" which used the historical information available and filled in the many gaps with conjecture to make the story more marketable....more
