i think i read too many books wid this trope! i was bored! and this cud have been better written. der was no emotional connection, at least from lisa's part. she really felt raped on more than one occasion. she WAS raped ! rick shud not have married a woman who very obviously did not want him! it was like he forced himself and the whole baggage of marriage on her. the heroine was clearly not prepared to have sex wid him. he cud atleast have given her a few months to get used to the idea of a ...more

3 1/2 Stars! ~ This is one of those classic stories where the hero blackmails the heroine into marrying him. Unfortunately, in these earlier Presents we aren't privy to the hero's point of view and for this story, some readers may find the hero far to ruthless because of it. Lisa battles Rick at every turn, resenting the hold he has over her. The emotions are intense, the passion is scorching. I enjoyed reading Rick and Lisa's journey to HEA.

I think the fighting ....throwing drinks....verbal warfare ...wore me down.
There were very little romantic moments to make it a satisfying read.
