It's sort of awesome to see what has passed as hardcore academic writing in the past. For example: "Harry Saville was too fat to fight, but not to run" (32), "wrote Henry Higden (a person of no importance)..." (24).
This book includes sometimes factually-shaky information on the private lives of the Wits. Its faults are rarely a result of Wilson's research as much as the understanding of literature at the time (the book was published in 1927). I'm reading this mainly for ...more
