Arthur is a young anteater, who does a lot of things to irritate his mother. It's the mother's voice that serves as narrator, and in her voice can be heard that of every mother. Likewise, in Arthur we see mirrored every child--it's a picture image of my little brother. This book is full of humor and sweetness; it is precious.

Arthur the Anteater's mom describes some of her son's foibles, in a loving and humorous way meant to appeal to an early elementary child.
I found the book to be funny - a couple of the parenting tricks Arthur's mom uses are fairly universal, and will probably delight the intended audience of this book. They will recognize mom's attempt to alleviate boredom by suggesting chores, and the magic 'trick' of cleaning up a room.
This meets my main criteria for a good children's picture boo More...

Found this at the library today. I remember certain pages, certain illustrations, certain lines. I love the warm-fuzzies a (forgotten) favorite childhood book brings.
