This was kind of interesting concept for a kids book. It had a short story in the front about 35 pages long about how the parents go out of town when the cook is on vacation so Mary and the kids have to do the cooking for a week. It gives the menu of what they eat each day and then the rest of the book is the recipes and other recipes from the time. I didn't end up trying any of them but that seemed like a fun thing to do with your child after reading the book.
Sniff goes mary poppins! mary poppins teaches michael, jane, the twins and annabel who to cook in a very interesting way.
Fun British recipes- not much in the way of story.
used this to make dessert for book club when we read Practically Perfect In Every Way (ha ha, get it?)
I love cookbooks that pull foods out of regular books/stories...
