Joan and her daughter had so much to deal when her husband committed suicide alone in hotel room. They both felt bad because they could see ahead this would happen. Her career was not real hot at that time and she had to pick herself up and continue to do comedy, she had a child to raise. And Melissa grew up so nice and well grounded and is doing in her life and career.
