If you are or have ever been a five year old boy in Waldorf, Maryland, then I have no need to describe the significant role this fine work of literature played in your emotional and psychological development. The graphic picture of the Allosaurus sinking his teeth into the neck of the Brontosaurus in the midst of the tepid Jurassic swamp evokes a pathos reminiscent of The Tempest. Gretchen and I read the fine work aloud to one another on chilly evenings, and warm ones as well.

Allosaurus, Apatasaurus, Brachiosaurus, Dimetrodon, Diplodocus, Ichthyosaurus, Pteradactyl, Trachodon...the list goes on and on. It's dinosaurs and they're every boy's fantasy - what's more to say than that? Another fabulous children's book with beautifully done artwork.

I loved this book as a kid. This is the book that made me think Allosaurus was so much cooler than T-Rex!
