I am conflicted by this collection of essays, and will present the good before the bad. The end products for which the authors advocate are in themselves interesting. For a while, I too have felt that traditional composition classes need to "get with the program," and introduce theories and writing methods to present the technological advances of today. Perhaps because I come from a modern generation, and because I have a creative bent, and because I went to a magnet high school that required reflective group projects... this book seems like it is preaching to the choir. Yes, we should use not only variegated images in our rhetoric/teaching, but also the projects themselves should make students question the aspects of writing's presentation.

In this fine collection, Wysocki, Johnson-Eilola, Cynthia L. Selfe, and Sirc provide a chapter or two each arguing about an aspect of new media and composition studies, and then a section offering classroom activities with rationales. This is the second time I've read it (January 2010), and I found even richer than the first time.
