A friend (okay, someone I had a wicked crush on) gave me this for my birthday long, long ago, in the days before the internet made it kind of, sadly, irrelevant. Even apart from the fact that this man I had a wicked crush on gave me such a perfect gift, I loved this book. It's the sort of thing you can pick up to check one thing - when did Darrin change from Dick York to Dick Sargent? - or pick up to settle in and actually read for a while. This is one of those reference books which pays for itself in knowledge. There are so many obscure and half-remembered shows highlighted that I really couldn't think of anything Alan Morton missed, and reading his brief synopsis of each episode covered really brings memories of the shows to life. It's better presented than the superficially similar Radio Times Guide To Science Fiction, having a much stronger emphasis on episode to episode details, and despite the lack of a photo section is in no ...more
