Arthur's Halloween Cos...
Arthur's Halloween Costume: Story and Pictures (I Can Read Book-Level 2)
No one knows what Arthurs funny-looking costume represents, but even his school principal calls it a winner! Arthurs frustrations and hassles ring true, and kids will enjoy the constantly changing costumes. Hobans expressive chimp faces catch the nuances of feeling, and the soft colors catch the action wonderfully well. SLJ.

Some kids might like Arthur, but my son just couldn't get into him. I admit, I didn't even like this one. Perhaps a younger, more innocent child, maybe a girl really, would like Arthur more. We never made it past the first chapter. I would recommend this for the average first grader. Perhaps a read-to for the Pre-K and K crowd, but I can't see how it would hold anyone's attention really.
