While I'm simply too lazy these days to cook any of the recipes in this book (give me a break, I'm pregnant, huge, and more inclined daily to open a box of cheese its than actualy cook something!), I loved her philosophy of cooking. The recipes in the book all lend themselves to cooking with loved ones, from friends to small children. I read this once a year so ago, and made several of the recipes. I decided to hunt it down again, but this time I bought it.
Simple, tasty and rustic French food - much of it is no hassle to prepare.
I totally recommend this - and the illustrations are brilliant.

Great resource for recipes calling for beans, cheeses, cabbages, or dried fruit. Lots of garlicky recipes, which is wonderful.
A little weird to see cute pictures of happy piglets atop descriptions of how to select good bacon.
