Sometimes I have to read about running to keep me motivated to continue doing it.

This is a good book, full of practical advice, for all level of runners. It has certainly helped me change my mindset around running, so I am now making sure I focus on the enjoyment aspect (interestingly enough, I've seen an improvement in my performance as a result).

An excellent guidebook to all who are keen to start running or develop their training. As a newbie in systematic training, I found this book to contain valuable advice and plenty of applicable knowledge to every aspect of training from programmes to stretches, nutrition and sports bras. Murphy's emphasis is on motivation, expertise and up-to-date scientific knowledge and luckily not in mystification and preaching. I subtracted 1star because of the layout design and the UK focus. Very good explanations, a few well needed criticisms and reality checks regarding supplements, tools and sportswear, and where their limits lie. Excellent book for beginners and experienced runners as well.
A good collection of useful information that I found in different places.
The women specific parts are regarding menstruation, pregnancy and menopause. Most of the information can be useful for men as well.

This was a really good introductory running book. Sam Murphy's writing is aimed at a beginner runner, without being patronising. I borrowed it from the library, but I'd be very tempted to buy it, as it would be a great book to dip into for running inspiration when needed.
