This is a book that should be taken with a grain of salt. Things have changed a bit since 1991 and not every concept in this book still applies. There are probably better psychology books out there as far as the actual research is concerned; however, this is still a valuable resource for any teacher (especially ones teaching in an urban environment). It offers some valuable insights on why students act out in the classroom and some useful strategies on coping with those behaviors.
