2: a poem told by a dog about how strange it is that people walk on two legs. The poem is interspersed with woofs and barks.
Poems for children. Inspirational.
I discovered Karla Kuskin years ago; her poetry is fresh and accessible to kids who don't see themselves as readers. One third grader described himself as hating school and liking snakes. Then he discovered Kuskin loved creepy crawlers too. Her original watercolor illustrations are charming.
