This is not the sort of book that makes for bedtime reading but the info is sound and very well explained. I really appreciated the amount of detail it contained and felt like it had some great exercises. These are not exercises you could not get on the web or find on your own but it is wonderful to have them all in one place. It is complete - and you could easily develop a program for either your strength training or spot type of strength exercises that you do because of injury using this book. ...more

Excellent no-nonsense guide to core and strength training, applicable to any endurance athlete.[return][return]I spend a lot of time on the bike and I don't mind running either, but I've always been rather gym-phobic. I know that including some strength workouts would benefit me immensely - sometimes I can *feel* how weak my back is - but have never known where to begin. I really like how easy to read the book was. it's easy to understand! I loved the visual aids, and being able to see where exactly in the body, you are exercising. I also thought the safety tips were helpful because a lot of people can get hurt if they are working out improperly. When I go to the gym, you see some people using machines wrong and the workers don't correct you in your error, also the machines aren't as imformative as they could be.
