I haven't tested every recipe, but the breadth of the book is nice, the design isn't too painful, the pictures are good, and (thank god) every recipe isn't an attempt to recreate the Methodist summer picnic by making fake pink fluff. The author is Indian- and Italian-American; recipes are divided about 2/3 to 1/3 between the two. This was the first book I ever purchased for the SCD and it was a good intro cookbook for me. It has a lot of great recipes...my favorites center around his remakings of some Asian dishes. He has been a savior with his SCD soy sauce recipe that lets me addapt many other recipes I come across to the SCD. There are a lot of dishes that are different than many other SCD cookbooks, due to the authors cultural background, which can add or detract from the book, depending on how you feel about tryi...more
