Want a heart as pure as gons and wish I could train my mind to be as strong as killuas. Loving the journey of this manga.

Captivating volume. Highlights:

- Gon shows some serious pelotas in perhaps the most gripping scene of the fourth exam. But he does pay for it.
- Killua's appearances are beautiful displays of savagery. If he's your favorite character at this point, he will continue to be.
- The snake trap is messed up. As is commonplace in this series, Togashi knows how to write a compelling problem with a more-than-satisfying resolution.
- The Final Exam presents a cool twist: Reverse Tournament!
- Not to spoil any

Yeah, still really liking this series. Here's one of the many reasons why:

I like that we are getting to know the more interesting aspects of the characters during the Hunter Exam in this volume. I personally think Gon is insane. He is the type of main character that wants it all or nothing and is willing to put his life at risk even if there is only a small chance that he will get what he wants. Kurapika is proving to very much be the intellectual one in the group of main characters. Hisoka and Killua continue to be very secretive and their exact motives are not compl ...more

Leorio gets fooled by Tonpa and a teammate. Kurapika intervenes and proposes to team up with Leorio. Together, they catch Tonpa and his friend, and get their tags. Kurapika has completed his as Tonpa was his target. They look for Leorio's.

Hisoka doesn't seem to be hunting for his own target. Rather, he's collecting individual tags. He choses Kurapi

Hmm... probably the best volume yet. We're approaching the Zoldyck family arc, which is basically my favourite ever, and I'm really enjoying the run up to it.

This volume impressed me because it made me feel something. One thing the original anime, the remake and the manga all have in common is (view spoiler), even if it was just a little. The original did it the best in that respect, though that might partially be because it had the element

Yesssss. This was awesome! The fourth phase of the exam is so cool to read about. I love that this series isn't predictable. We were also introduced to Illumi in this volume and what an intro. I love him! But the best part of this volume, again, was Hisoka. He's just so fucking cool. His charisma makes it so every time he's in the story, you give it your full attention. I know first time readers who haven't watched the show might find me biased or not feel that way about him yet, but give it tim ...more

This series has moved very very slowly through the first few volumes, but the test is at last over, with this volume, although apparently some details will be cleared up in flash backs in volume five. The relationships deepen, which has been this series' week point so far, everything has been surface level and so slow that not much has been able to happen between characters yet. This volume grows some of the things that have been hinted at very nicely.

I can't say I'd give it four stars just yet, but 3.5 if I could. Probably the best one so far. I can see a glimmer of this getting more interesting now that the entrance exams type arc is winding down.

Esta parte es una de mis favoritas! Aparece Hisoka haciendo cosas que éticamente estan muy mal, pero dentro de como se da el ambiente resulta una genialidad.
