An engaging and fast-paced debut, with a memorable and realistic protagonist. I was quickly sucked into the story and felt a real connection with the main character, Paige. Her dad is dead, her mom is never around, and she keeps getting cryptic messages from beyond. Things get more complicated (and much steamier) when she meets Nathan, mysterious, mature, and undeniably hot.

A few reviewers note that Paige is naive and overly emotional, but I remember seventeen -- there were a lot of tears involv...more

This book was okay. I didn't hate it, but didn't really like it that much either.

The paranormal world that Rebekkah investigates here is intriguing, but I just couldn't get past the fact that Paige was extremely naive, cried all the time, got herself into REALLY stupid situations, and just whined and complained about everything. She seemed pretty selfish to me. And her love story with Nathan...While it was cute, it wasn't believable. When you're seventeen, you don't even know what love is. Heck,...more

Beyond the Eyes was a surprise! It's not exactly what I usually read but I was pleased at how good it was. It started out with a bang the first page really pulls you in. The author does a wonderful job of making sure you understand everything, the back story for the characters was a little complicated for me but I ended up catching on quickly.

This story has everything in it action and adventure, suspense drama and of course romance which is a must. This exc...more

I loved this 24 chapter book. It had everything: drama, action, mystery, romance, and suspense. The story was told through Paige’s first person point-of-view. I appreciated that Rebekkah Ford made an effort to get readers caring about all the characters.

She had an amazing talent with characterization and plot. All the people in the story–heroes, villains, main, supporting–were three-dimensional. Even though Paige was the main one, it didn’t feel like just her story. Everyone got a chance to show...more

This is a new, exciting young adult series that will captivate teens and adults alike. If you enjoy paranormal stories with a good dose of romance, then this one is for you.
Paige has premonitions. Other than that she is a normal teenage girl with high school to worry about and friendships to maintain. But the premonitions are becoming stronger and stronger, demanding more attention. This is where we meet her, as she is trying to figure out how to manage her life. Paige is a fun character to read...more

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.*

I was excited to start this book as I had been reading a lot of contemporary romance so I welcomed the change with a little paranormal flavour just to mix things up.

I did enjoy this book, we meet Paige who is 17yrs old and has these mysterious premonitions that make her feel like an oddity. She feels like she can’t confide in anyone, that is until she meets Nathan, a boy with his own mysterious charm. Now if you follow my reviews...more

Beyond The Eyes is a young adult paranormal told by Paige, an independent seventeen year old who lost her father, and longs for her mother's presence. Her mother tries to avoid Paige as much as possible because Paige reminds her so much of her husband. In this book, Paige discovers that her father has something to do with the dark spirits, and has to find out why a spirit is taking interest of her. Although I enjoyed reading Beyond The Eyes, I still...more

Beyond the Eyes was an enjoyable read. So much so that I am ready for the next book, Dark Spirits right now! Written by Rebekkah Ford, this YA Paranormal book focuses on the life of 17-year old Paige who feels like a freak because she receives premonitions. Her life is further complicated due to the death of her father at a young age and a mom who is never home. You quickly meet her best friends- Carrie, Tree and Matt(?) and the story takes off. One night at a local club, Paige recognizes some s...more

Beyond the Eyes is the first book in Rebekkah Ford's first series, and I loved it! I have read other reviews on this book, and honestly I don't think this book deserves any lower than a 4 out of 5 stars. I personally give it a 5 out of 5 (4 out of 5 if I factored in grammatical errors - but I like to review the story, not the editing). The majority of the reviewers agree with me, which makes me very happy!

I love that her story is unique. The paranormal world that she created is a first, for me a...more

First Lines:
“I never thought I would die at the age of seventeen, so when I received the death message, I was a little freaked out.”

My Thoughts:
If that first sentence didn’t hook you in, I don’t know what would. Rebekkah’s first lines of the main character dying at the age of seventeen, yet she is still narrating the story is quite intriguing in itself. I really enjoyed this book and I absolutely need to read the second one that...more

Rebekkah Ford has created a crazy mystical world through her book Beyond the Eyes, with characters who you will come to care for and connect with and an original and exciting plot which will keep your fingers lingering on the pages, aching to read more. There were several things I like...more

As apart of the R2R program, I am writing this review with the most honesty possible and hope that nobody will take offense to this review.
First off, I must mention that it took me way longer than I expected to read through this book. I usually take about 1 day to finish a good book and for this book I ended up taking around 4 days of me pushing myself to read it. It was a horrible and lengthy read that was completely filled with utter idiocy. Paige is the most annoying, selfish, fickle, cry-ba...more

I received a free copy of Beyond the Eyes from the author in exchange for an honest review. Paige has come to the realization that she is facing a huge problem. She is hearing ominous voices that no one else can hear. She loves her friends but knows that she can't tell them what is going on without sounding crazy. She keeps this information to herself until she meets Nathan Caswell. She feels an instant connection to him and soon finds out that he tracks dark spirits, who have recently decided t...more

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I liked this book, but I did not like the cover. I found it to be too dark and scary for this book. This debut novel was a quick read and it held my attention. This book encompassed different aspects that I found unique, such as King Solomon's Ring. I liked the mystery that this book had about Paige and her father. That is what really kept me reading. Just like any good book, there were twists and turns. Also there w...more

Beyond the Eyes follows the life of Paige Reed. A girl who has to deal with mysterious premonitions that usually ends up dealing with death. Her life gets even stranger when she has a premonition of her own death. This premonition leads her on a path that will lead her to do great things, combat the darkness of the world and of course find true love.

Rebekkah Ford writes a great story with characters that you start to care for rather quickly. Paige is a good character to follow though towards the...more

So begins the young adult novel, Beyond the Eyes, by Rebekkah Ford. I admit my interest was peaked by this first sentence. It's well crafted and really makes me want to read on.

Paige is a seventeen year old senior in high school whose world is turned upside down with the arrival of Nathan. Wait, let’s back up! :) I know everyone likes...more

Paige is unlike any other teen, she hears premonitions. Unsure of what this voice in her head means and the constant ringing in her ears she chooses to avoid it fearing the truth behind it. She happily continues to live her mundane and lonely life when Nathan unexpectedly enters...everything she knew changed as he shows her that the world is not as it seems. Firstly, there's immortality and secondly, there are evil spirits that take host bod...more

I laughed. I cried. My heart soared. My heart broke. I fell in love. I felt hatred. There was romance, heartache, longing, friendship, and distress. This book would be a great movie and should be on the Best Seller’s list!

Do you love a paranormal romance with a much deeper story? Beyond the Eyes is a story of an ultimate fight between light and dark, good and evil, black and white. Rebekkah Ford brought such depth to each of the characters, that I was completely enthralled from the first page....more

BEYOND THESE EYES
BY REBEKKAH FORD

A Young Adult paranormal drama, Beyond These Eyes, appears at a perfect time when the Twilight Saga has taken over the entire planet.

Rebekkah Ford however, takes her story of Paige, a young girl experiencing the paranormal, and lures us into a fascinating journey of thrills, twists and disbelief.

The story starts of slow, but builds as you turn the pages. You find yourself engulfed in Paige's world, sympathising with her struggles of being a gifted girl in an...more

I'm a big fan of the paranormal and YA books. The cover art of Beyond the Eyes caught my attention, and after I read the description, I just had to buy it.

I thought the character of Paige Reed was very refreshing. I like characters who experience growth. At the start of the book this character is a very vulnerable 17 year-old who really has no family in her life. She relies upon friends to fill this void, and I absolutely love that. The friends were different and quirky, but also very supportive...more

Having once been a teenage girl myself, I found myself relating with Paige, the main character of this really interesting story. Not that I ever had premonitions or was hunted by dark spirits, mind you, but if I were, I think I would feel just like Paige did. Being a teenager is never easy, but being a teenager whose father died when she was very young and whose mother is seldom around (not to mention the mysterious and troubling premonitions) would take its toll on any teenager. And don't forge...more

The story itself had a great deal of potential. It has all of the right elements of action and adventure coupled with drama and suspense. The focus of the paranormal world is executed well and the descriptions were not overbearing.

The author needed to invoke a stronger main character for a book of this nature, someone for reader’s to be able to easily related to instead of a simpering girl who seemed way too naïve for the world around her. She complained all of the time and I did not find her li...more

Beyond the Eyes is a unique read. Rebekkah Ford seems to have combined a bunch of ideas and experiment with how they would all play out together. It caused really nice tension to build for the story and kept my interested. I also really liked the pace that the book took. It could have easily went faster, ending up with a very confusing and muddled up story that people would have to re-read in order to understand all that was happening, but Rebekkah kept it slow and clear. The characters all seem...more

Rebekkah Ford grew up in a family that dealt with the paranormal. Her parents’ Charles and Geri Wilhelm were the directors of the UFO Investigator's League in Fairfield, Ohio, back in the 1970s. They also investigated ghost hauntings and Bigfoot sightings in addition to UFO’s. Growing up in this type of environment and having the passion for writing is what drove Rebekkah at an early age to write...more
