Amazing Grace

Eve Gaddy
It's a match made in Heaven with the Sheriff from Hell--Hell, Texas, that is. Grace O'Malley is the sheriff of Bandido County in southwest Texas. Posing as an EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) investigator, Max Ridell is an undercover Texas Ranger, looking to bust an illegal-alien smuggling ring, and the Sheriff's office is high on the list of suspects. Max can't recon...more

I finished reading my first netgalley received book yesterday. If I count the time I spent reading it, it must get 4 or 5 hours total.
Why it was that fast? Well, this book has some actions happening all the time. You could think it is an adventure or action story, or even some suspense story. But, I don't think so. I would describe it as a near reality romance. You know the kind that actually happens in our lives.
The romance we live is not suspended in the air, time and space. Life keeps going a...more
In the annals of bad covers, this one has to raise the bar, don't you think? He looks like he has a crick in his neck, and she looks a bit zaftig, maybe? Manly? I'm not sure. But this certainly is not a cover that captures your interest and makes you think, "Hmmm. This is the summer beach read I wanted!"
Yet if you are looking for a quick, sweet read with reasonably hot headboard rockin', this is the book for you.

3 STARS
I liked Amazing Grace. It had laughter, too much sex scenes,
Texas Ranger undercover as EPA agent. Female Sheriff, smuggling ring,
and dog fighting. Lots of action was happening in a short fast read.
Max Ridell was new in Hell, Texas and already in a brawl. The
Sheriff Grace O'Malley arrested him and Jim Bob who started the
fight.
Max is a Texas Ranger working undercover as a EPA
agent because they recieved a tip that someone in the
Sherif...more

Amazing Grace is a contemporary crime drama romance about the Sheriff of Hell, Texas (am pretty sure it's not a real place) called Grace O'Malley and a Texas Ranger undercover as a biologist, Max Riddell, who is investigating Grace for suspicion of aiding smugglers into the country. The novel started when Max was accidentally involved in a brawl and Sherif Grace came to arrest both him and the troublemaker. Max began to get to know Grace and she began to have feelings for him and so does he even...more
I've recently got a bit behind in my review writing, so this might be a tad short.
This one provided by netgalley was OK, but felt rather like a book you read and forget. It's been re-worked from a 1998 published book.
The heroine is a sheriff in a small town in Texas (so far so good), and on the whole, the author does a good job describing the work and frustrations of being in law enforcement in a small town. As for the heroine herself? I'll be honest, if I came across her (and if it wouldn't get...more

Nice enjoyable read. Max was just sigh worthy and Grace was a great fit for him.
Max comes in to town a bad boy in looks but a good guy in reality. His first appearance is being arrested by Grace O'Malley after getting a little too chummy with the girlfriend of a local. He was just being nice and asking questions but.... what can ya do...
Grace was a lot of fun as she is so confident as sheriff but isn't so sure of herself as a woman. She is tall and not classically gorgeous but Max sees her as a...more

This is a cute, fun and short read.
The suspense aspect of the story is interesting- I don’t ever remember a human trafficking subplot in a romance novel before- but transparent in that it’s very simple to work out who the bad guy is.
Max and Grace are great characters, and it was very refreshing to see a female sheriff as the love interest- another thing I don’t remember seeing in a romance novel before. The passion between them is slow-building and feels real, though conflict between them is lac...more

I enjoyed this romantic suspense from Eve Gaddy. I liked the characters of Sheriff Grace O'Malley and undercover Texas Ranger, Max Ridell. There was lots of chemistry between the two, and I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop. I also liked the storyline, and was kept wondering what would happen next. I'll be looking for more by this author.

This story is set in Hell, the little town of Hell which has a small population but a big human smuggling problem. When Max, an undercover texas ranger arrives, he doesn't get the best start and ends up being arrested by the town sherrif, Grace. I enjoyed the overall plot of this story as it blended the mystery and romance very well. I really like Grace as she had a sweet side but also wasn't too self confident. Max had his own issues to deal with but it was good to see him falling for Grace. I...more
A sweet love story. Grace is the Sheriff of Hell. Texas that is. She is a 31 year old virgin. Max is a Texas Ranger sent in under cover to find out who is running illegal immigrants through Hell. Grace’s department is under suspicion. Max rules out Grace in his own mind pretty quick but he needs to find proof. This book deals with the mystery but even more it is about a persons capacity to love. A thoroughly enjoyable quick read.

With a good mix of action, suspense and romance Amazing Grace is one of those books that I found hard to set down when I started reading it. The story follows Sheriff Grace O'Malley and undercover Texas Ranger Max Ridel as he ventures into Hell, Texas in the guise of an EPA officer. Max's true work involves investigating illegal immigrants coming in from Mexico, which may involves the Sheriff's office or someone else loca...more

A Cute Read for a Rainy Day
Texas Ranger Max Ridell is fairly sure someone at some point has told him to go to hell, but his boss has actually sent him there. He's in the nearly microscopic town of Hell, Texas, working undercover as an agent with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) while he investigates an human smuggling ring. Thirty minutes in town and he's already met Sheriff Grace O'Malley, one of his prime suspects.
That she's arresting him for getting his face pounded by...more

This was an okay read, the story was predictable,i felt the chemistry between Max-Gracie lacked. The crime angle also could'nt keep me into the story,No big issues between the couple only minor misunderstanding.

Gracie is the small town Sheriff in Hell, and her first meeting with Max is quite different from other meetings because she has to arrest him for disorderly conduct.
