I think I have to preface this review with the fact that I don't know much about steampunk. Victorian era, strange machines, that about sums up my knowledge.

However, though it took me a while to actually get into the novel (see above), once I did, I was fascinated by Raine's story. Who is she, and why does she feel strongly drawn to the Professor?

The feel of the book is fast paced, almost like you can't get to the next word quickly enough. Awakenings is a shorter novel, so this could lead to you
