A book of superlatives. Nothing in this satire is true, but maybe everything is. It has the worst photos ever published in it. The core of the book is very serious (methan is 23 times worse than CO2), the rendering however bends it towards the hyper-hilarious that finally makes ends meet. It is a marriage of all and nothing, as always clad in spotless and cruel elegance. A funny sidenote: When it came out, some people wanted their money back, because they took it all lierally.

Ich weiß nicht, was ich mit dem Buch anfangen soll ... möglicherweise liegt es daran, dass ich Hr. Krachts und Hr. Niermanns opulesken überspitzten teilweies arg zynischen Kurzabhandlungen, die dokumentarisch daherkommen und möglich zu sein scheinen, etwas zu heftig waren und ich dafür zur Zeit nicht zu haben bin ... okay, kurz mit möglichen Spoilern ... die Erde hat ein Metanproblem ... und ein Methamphetaminproblem sowie und dann noch Nuklearwaffen ... und alles endet irgendwie in der ...more

Christian Kracht is a Swiss writer and journalist.
Kracht was born in Saanen. His father, Christian Kracht Sr., was chief representative for the Axel Springer publishing company in the 1960s. Kracht attended Schule Schloss Salem in Baden and Lakefield College School in Ontario, Canada. He graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, New York, in 1989.
