En annorlunda dokumentär om chassidiska judars livsåskådning och levnad. Författaren har självt levt tillsammans med denna slutna grupp i New York under en längre tid där hon lärde känna deras miljö. Resultatet av sina erfarenheter presenteras i denna bok.

This book is about Nina Solomin's journey into the community of Hassidic Jews in Williamsburg of New York City. Very interesting read indeed, being a personal account of her struggle to get somewhat accepted in the community, the Hassidic being not very welcoming to secularised Jews or outsiders generally. Also clearly outlines the history of the various sects of Hassidic Jews and how they differ from each other and it also portraits some individual members with different backgrounds. Highly rec

This is one of my favorite books ever. It's about hasidic Jews in Brooklyn. It is easy to read and critical without being judgemental. Sadly, I believe it's only available in Swedish.
