Preface: I'm married to a cop. That colors my reading when it comes to romantic suspense. Things other readers might overlook stand out to me. I'm far from being an expert, but I know just enough that it tends to kill my enjoyment when it comes to the procedural stuff.

That's where this book fell apart for me. I couldn't buy into the plot as it was written. The choices Jonas made as a cop didn't make sense. Nor did the amount of protocol he ignored. From there it was all downhill. Because I didn
So yes, HelenKay Dimon is a personal friend so there’s a chance that this review could be a little squewed but I’d like to think not. I started reading her books because I love being able to support my friends however I can but it’s her writing, her characters, and the sexiness that keeps me reading. Because this book is an Intrigue it does not have as much sexy times as some of her single titles but she does not let up on the action. Courtney Allen has thought that her small Portland town is qu ...more
Talk about just leaping into the plot! This book was quite the thrill ride from start to finish. No sooner than the two main characters meet than we have a chase, a deadly crash, and an attempted assassination. The hits just kept coming and I was intrigued and at the same time confused. I suspect it was on purpose and that is the author’s intent. I was so glad when it slowed down long enough for me to get just a small glimmer of what was going on, but it was a quick pause before we- the book cha ...more

When She Wasn't Looking - (Jonas and Courtney)

I need to make it a point to read HelenKay Dimon more often. I enjoyed every darned bit of this story, especially the hero, Jonas Porter. From his name to his demons to his job to the heroine he’s sworn to protect, this is one sexy lawman you can’t help but love.

Jonas is taking one last call for a wellness check, and then he’s on his way home for some much needed rest. Of course, even the simplest of calls can’t go right for him. He finds a different woman at the address he’s been given than the

If you want the novel of the year go get a big fat book. However, THIS book was so much fun to read I don't know where to start. The first chapter rocked it. And the second one and the third one etc... <-- get it, the whole book flew past !! Had my favorite two things going on ... LOTS OF ACTION .. Well planed out, whhoooeeeey, what a ride. Second favorite thing is I like 2 Character plots. This just had the two character interaction from the get go. The writing was GREAT. This book even made ...more
Written in the truly engaging style that is HelenKay Dimon. I really like her rom susp books, all for Harlequin Intrigue.

While there were a few "whyyyyy would you do that!" moments, for the most part, it's smart, fast paced, interesting, and exciting. Also, I liked both characters a lot.

I think Intrigue does themselves a disservice by using the "cast of characters" because it gives preconceived notions about the characters and 9 times out of 10 I can guess the villain just from the listings. I
Very good book that kept me turning the pages. Jonas left his job with the DEA in Los Angeles after losing his partner there. He still feels it was his fault. Courtney moved to Oregon to get away from tragedy in her own life. When trouble comes after her, Jonas is the one she turns to. I liked the way that she trusted her instincts that told her she could depend on Jonas. There were a bunch of people in this story that had to be eliminated as the bad guys. I liked the way that Jonas stood up to ...more
HelenKay Dimon can pack a lot of story into a small book and she doesn't disappoint with this book. Jonas Porter, a deputy sheriff, knocks on Courtney Allen's door and soon he is chasing her and then they are being chased and he has no idea what kind of trouble Courtney is in. He becomes the big protector and she soon shares her troubles with him. Will they get their happily ever after? You can count on it with a HelenKay Dimon book!

In Dimon’s romantic suspense novel, Courtney Allen is like most women and immediately attracted to the rugged deputy sheriff, Jonas Porter. But his big flaw in her eyes—he wears a badge. Ten years ago, her father was wrongly convicted of a crime and Courtney made it her life long commitment to distrust the law. But when Jonas listens to her story and believes it, she realizes she just may have been too judgmental.

Jonas is convinced the real killer is still out there watching. To protect Courtney
When She Wasn’t Looking is another must read by HelenKay Dimon. I fell in love with Jonas. I want him for my very own. He is a well blended character who leaps off the pages and into your heart. Courtney’s strength and determination in the face of all she’s been through is written extremely well. Her heartbreak can be felt.

The building of trust and love between Jonas and Courtney was equally balanced with the mystery of who was behind the murders. Love is found in the must unlikely place. It is
Wow, a Harlequin Intrigue that I really liked! Aside from the doubts surrounding Jonas' ability to do anything since he's sleep deprived and beaten up, and one instance of Courtney's TSTL action (which Jonas totally called her on - although if I were him, I'd wash my hands of her), this was a good solid read with lots of action and suspense, part of which is centered on when the various parties will figure out who the bad guy is - this was enough to engage my attention because I sure didn't like ...more

I loved this book. Fast paced from the get-go, with an everyday heroine who teams with a hunky cop hero. Did I mention that I adore the hero of this book? Pure yumminess! Dimon did a great job of fleshing these two characters out and making them feel like real people.
My first read of Helenkay Dimon and I enjoyed. I look forward to checking out her new novella coming out this Christmas.
This book was exceptional. I love most of the Intrigue Series...but the I love happily ever after.
I enjoy reading these book of suspence and romance.

HelenKay Dimon spent the last twelve years in the most unromantic career ever - divorce lawyer. After dedicating all that time and effort to helping people terminate relationships she is thrilled to write romance novels full time.
