Definition of an Empty Net: When a team pulls the goalie for an extra attacker, desperately seeking a goal.

Audrey Parker was in a horrible place.
She hated her job, her sister was getting married and moving out, but worst of all, she was in love with a total jerk. No matter what she did, every guy she met hurt her. All she wanted was her happily ever after. Her Prince Charm...more

I am such a HUGE fan of Toni Aleo. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors!!
WOW...Each book I read in the Assassins series only makes me love this series that much more!!! Empty net might be my favorite of the series so far. But it is tough because I loved each book in different ways.
I have been waiting anxiously to read this book when I found out that it was Audrey's. I loved her in Trying To Score and wanted to see her get her HEA that she so desperately wanted and deserved.
I loved...more

AHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I can't be done, this can't be over!!!! It's too good! I can't put into words how much I love this book. I really think this is Toni's best ever! Seriously! You all know how much I love Lucas and I didn't think Toni could top him, esp with Tate being a charming (I find them boring) but boy oh boy was I wrong! It was like me thinking Cars Land was going to be lame!!! This BLEW me away! And I kinda need more now! :D You get a standing ovation from me lady!...more

This Book Is Fantastic!!!! I loved every minute of this and I never wanted it to end. It's been two days since I finished it and I still can't stop thinking about it. I simply NEED more!

But enough with my fan girl squeefest, let's talk about this book...

Audrey Parker doesn't have luck picking winners when it comes to guys. She keeps kissing frogs but it coming up empty handed when it comes to her Prince Charming. That is, until she meets Tate. The problem is that he is way to young for her, and...more

3.0 stars. Really wanted to bump this one up to 3.5 stars but just couldn’t do it. From the rave reviews I’m evidently in the minority, I liked the story and love the authors Hero’s but just can’t stand the heroines. Audrey rounds out the line up as #3 of wimpy, whiney, wishy-washy ladies in this series. The Hero in this romance is Tate, a young hockey player from Sweden. He’s so sexy and sweet and thinks the moon rises and sets in Audrey, but she’s torn. Should she go back to the jerk, Levi tha...more

Empty Net by Toni Aleo

Ok first I have to say that this is probably one of the first reviews I was dying to write and post, but due to my blog tour I had to wait till today to post it. So Toni Aleo is now one of my favorite authors. This woman knows how to write a hot romance story. Her characters are strong women who are independent, work hard and one day hope to find love. And the bonus part of this series is that it revolves around hockey. And who in the world cannot read a book around hot sex...more

UGH!!!!!! Each book gets better and better! This one is no exception! I almost puked and died several times, but my review is coming when I can process my feelings!!!

OK! Three days later and I am still so in love with this book! I knew it would be a tough read judging by how big of a DOUCHE NOZZLE Levi was in Trying to Score but I had no idea it would get so intense! I wanted to puke in my lap and eat it again!! Audrey is this plump lovable chick who just wants someone to love her. (Helloooo? I...more

Grab your pencils and mark this down, because with the addition of Ms. Aleo’s 3rd Assassin’s book, she has officially scored her first Hat Trick! Way to go Toni! This is a story that encompasses much more than a typical romance book. It is a very realistic tale of something broken and destroyed being revived and made complete again.

Empty Net is a honest, heartwarming, endearing story of two people that have by all accounts lost all h...more

I think I need to warn you my fellow readers before you start reading ‘Empty Net’ this book might cause a major case of cougarism. I mean seriously since I read that book I’m that close to be a creeper and track Alex Pettyfer on the net (pun intended) and ask him if he would be fine with being my Tate Ooooooder.
Anyways let’s say that Toni did it again…I don’t know if I love her because she writes great romance novel that get you hooked from page one or if I should hate her because every time I’...more

I really truly love Toni's books. She's created such a great cast of characters. I love that each book tells a different persons story, but we still get to see glimpses of the old characters.

The reason I was so excited about reading this book, was because I really loved Audrey in Trying to Score. I identify with her personally. I also have an older sister who was always the pretty one, smart one, and overall "good" child. It can be difficult to live up to that same image. I think Audrey put a l...more

Empty Net is the third book in the Assassins series by Toni Aleo. And definitely a must read.

Tate Odder feels all alone. He's lost his family a couple years earlier to a horrific accident and still hasn't come to terms with their death. He gets offered a dream position with the Tennessee Assassins, but leaves behind a fiance because she doesn't want to follow along. He's made some really great friends on the ice and off the ice. The team has pretty much welcomed him with open arms. He's having...more

Audrey and her insecurities feature heavily in Trying to Score (Assassins #2). Be prepared to be irritated with the first part of this book..but hang in there because it improves drastically.

Audrey is delusional about her love for a guy who treats her like crap and plays on her insecurities, is hung up about the age difference between her and Tate (the very young Assassin's goalie), is waiting for Prince Charming and does not see what is right under her nose. So yes, you will spend a good half of the book shouting at Audre...more

This is the third book in the Assassins series about hockey players in love. I really loved the hero of this book but wished to have a little bit more of him. I felt for the heroine of this book but could have done with less of her in places an more time with him instead or them together. The book is a fun book of older woman-younger man, neighbors, sports star, and a big beautiful woman troupes. It tempers all this fun with a hero who has a lot of grief and heroine who makes terrible choices in...more

This is the third book in the Assassins series. My favorite is still the first book, but this one is right up there with it. This book irritated me in the beginning and made me love it by the end. I don't know how Toni Aleo can do that. She sucks me into her characters and the world she created and I love it. The people feel real to me and I love them. But then they irritate me, maybe that is what makes them so realistic because they get on my nerves like real people. I don't know, but whatever...more

Toni Aleo doesn’t just write a story. She gives you the ability to experience the journey of her characters right along with them. Her stories are enveloped with passion, emotion, humor, love; and let me tell you, that girl knows how to write a sex scene that just makes you sweat!

Toni does it again! The first two books in this series ASSASSINS and TRYING TO SCORE were fantastic books. EMPTY NET was not a disappointment at all. I mean there are hot guys and hockey, how could you not like that? Okay the story is great too...so it's worth it from beginning to end.

Audrey has her problems. She's certainly not perfect and on the night she's celebrating her sister's last weekend of unmarried freedom, she's dumped by Levi. Starting new and wishing she had what her sister and the...more

I'm coming into this series with just this book but I was happy to see it worked great as a standalone. I've had a recent fascination with hockey books and I find that extremely funny because, even though I would love to understand the sport, I just don't. I like watching it but I never last more than 30 minutes (unless I'm drooling over some hot guy) and I guess that all comes from not having someone to explain the ins and outs of the game.

But in my...more

Let me start by saying that Toni Aleo, is one of several new authors that I am totally in love with. I got lucky and found Toni a few months ago when I signed up for a blog tour. It's a contemporary romance book with the hero being a hockey player. Meh, hockeys not my thing I thought, but I'll try it out. I'm so glad that I did. Okay enough about Toni, onto Empty Net.

Empty Net started not too long after Trying to Score, if you follow the series (don't worry they can be read as stand alone books...more

Wow, I loved that book. Even if there are some things who bothered me, it still a great book and the end is just amazing...

What I did like:
- Tate is just the perfect guy, I mean, he is so sweet and sexy at the same time! He is patient with Audrey when I would have been crazy if I were him. Plus, he have an horrible past with his dead family and see him and Audrey be happy is just so good!
- Lucas, and his big-brother manners, I loved him when he was like that with Audrey!
- The chemistry between...more

Sweet angels in Heaven. This book was beyond amazing. No kidding…I laughed, maybe snorted a couple times (it happens), I shouted at Audrey to get her head out of her rear, and of course with a ending like that…I cried. Oh my gosh did I cry. 12:45 in the morning and I am bawling my eyes out thinking of what just happened and what was to come. I was thinking heartbreak was sure to rear its ugly face again. Did it? Pssh, like I am gonna tell you. You have to read it to find out.

Toni can write some...more

I am not sure why I agreed to be a part of this tour when I hadn't read the first two books in the series. But I was hoping it was one of those books that had an independent story that had tiny ties to other ones, and it turned out that was true. That and, I took part in the cover release and I'd been cover-lusting after it ever since. No really, it was absolutely stunning and one of my complete favourites this summer. I also had loved the synopsis as well as the intriguing - and well-fitted - t...more

"Book Three Assassins series

Audrey Parker was unhappy with her life, she is just going through the motions at work, since she works in the family business it's not like she can tell her dad she hates her job, To make things worse she ends up alone at her sisters wedding, because of a fight with her jerk boyfriend. Audrey doesn't want to be jelious of her sister and her beautiful day, she is just sad she hasn't found her Prince Charming, so she ends up drowning her sorrows so much so that when sh...more

All i can say is that I couldn't wait to read this book :)). the waiting part is killing me. seriously ^^. I just finished reading the first chapter and my golly it made me want for more, too bad that the book isn't released yet. (sighs). I'm not a fan of girls older than boys stories but for this book I will definitely make an exception :))

I've mentioned that I love sports romances before, and Toni Aleo definitely writes ones that I enjoy. I love how she actually includes hockey in the story, and how she alternates between the male and female leads....oh, and I definitely enjoy those steamy sex scenes, too...can't forget those. ;)

I've been really looking forward to Empty Net ever since I finished Trying to Score, especially after learning that this one was going to be Audrey's book! :D Audrey is Fallon's sister, and we met her in...more

I was super lucky to get an ARC of Empty Net. I waited until I was on my vacation to start reading it because I knew that once I started I wouldn’t be able to stop! I was right! I read it in 2 days and was up into the wee hours of the night to finish it. I. Could. Not. Stop. I was really excited to get to see Audrey’s story! With all the craziness between her and Levi I had to know what happened. Empty Net was a rollercoaster of...more

Of the 3 books Toni Aleo has written in this series so far, Empty Net is by far my favorite . I 100% think that she has mastered her craft with this book. I am in no way saying that Taking Shots & Trying to Score sucked; because they did NOT - I am just simply saying that this book rocked my freaking face off. I have never been more into the characters of a book until I read Empty Net. Toni has created such a realistic world; that involves famous people who have real life problems - which to...more

I love knowing when I pick up a book that I am about to experience something wonderful, and that's exactly how I feel whenever I start one by Toni Aleo. Her characters are real, the emotions are raw, the suspense is torture, and the steamy scenes are...well, they're just H-O-T, HOT!! I've been very impatiently awaiting the third book in Toni's awesome series, and she was sweet enough to send me an ebook ARC to put me out of my misery early (thank you so much, hun!!).
