I am such a HUGE fan of Toni Aleo. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors!!
WOW...Each book I read in the Assassins series only makes me love this series that much more!!! Empty net might be my favorite of the series so far. But it is tough because I loved each book in different ways.
I have been waiting anxiously to read this book when I found out that it was Audrey's. I loved her in Trying To Score and wanted to see her get her HEA that she so desperately wanted and deserved.

This Book Is Fantastic!!!! I loved every minute of this and I never wanted it to end. It's been two days since I finished it and I still can't stop thinking about it. I simply NEED more!

Audrey Parker doesn't have luck picking winners when it comes to guys. She keeps kissing frogs but it coming up empty handed when it comes to her Prince Charming. That is, until she meets Tate. The problem is that he is way to young for her, and she's scared to let him get close because she's damaged. She thinks she's not right for him because she can't give him kids, but no matter how hard she tries to push him away he keeps coming back. Maybe she should just give in to Tate and finally know what it means to have a Happily Ever After...

I came to love Audrey and all her insecurities. Don't get me wrong there were times when I wanted to just smack her around a bit, but I swear it was for her own good. lol Especially when she would over analyze everything between her and Tate. Or better yet, when she would settle for her ex/asshat of a boyfriend, Levi. Overall it was nice though to see a girl that you can relate to, because let's face it, we've all been there.

And then you have Tate, who is just OMG perfect. I Love, Love, LOVED him! No he isn't actually perfect. He made his fair share of mistakes, but his heart was always in the right place and I loved how he treated Audrey. He just cares so much for her, and the author does a really good job of making us feel what he is feeling. Never once did I think There is no way a guy would actually act like this!, as we know that happens so often in romance novels. And speaking of romance...*fans myself* it was SOOOOOOO hot! It took a little while to get there, but once we did WOW, Ms.Aleo really knows how to write a smoking hot sex scene or two, or three...lol

Now I feel I do have to mention one negative, and that's editing. This book had quite a few editing errors throughout it. I don't know if it was just in the review copy I received or not, but still I have to mention it. Just some of your common misplaced words, misspellings, and repetitiveness. I think with a good edit this story can be tightened up a bit and polished to perfection. Especially when it comes to eliminating places where things are repeated a few too many times. Still this is the first time that I have ever said a book needs editing, but I am still giving it 5 stars. It's just that good! With the edit I would say this is a more of a 7 star book, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one!

Overall this is a great read with everything that you could possible want from a love story:-)(less)

I found myself speed reading parts and skipping others during a lot of Audrey’s dialogue as soon as I realized she follows the same pattern as the other heroines. Audrey goes back and forth with Levi while he’s awful to her, insults her and yanks her around all the while she waxes on about her love for him is just plain hard to read, and more than I could stand. Lots of drama here, and again I liked the story and the writing style and was rooting for Tate to find his HEA (I was hoping not with Audrey, but as she’s the main female character that’s just the way this story rolls). I have to admit that I totally disliked Elli in bk 1 (Taking Shots) but as she shows up in bks 2 & 3 after overcoming her whiney ways and stands up for herself/takes charge I like her much better. As with Elli, Fallon from bk 2 (Trying To Score) has now become a stand up girl and has a part in this story. It appears once these leading ladies finally figure out their true love exists in the featured hero, Wa-La….their annoying insecurities are cured.

What did I like about this bk? The good parts of this story included Tate, of course, who is one hot heart melter as well as any scene with Shea (Elli’s hub) who I simply adore as well as Lucas (Fallon’s hubster) and their son Aiden who is written so cute you just want to give the little guy a hugging squeeze. Did miss Grace (Shea’s sister) who didn’t really have a part to play in this bk. A shame since she’s one awesome chick along with her great guy hubby, James, and their 2 sweet kids. TA writes her side characters well and those I do enjoy. Also as a side note this bk had a much better handle on the typos/spelling errors than the first 2 bks.

The series does continue, next up is Piper, Harper’s sister who ends this bk in quite the predicament and the mystery is on as to just who she falls for in bk 4.

Ok first I have to say that this is probably one of the first reviews I was dying to write and post, but due to my blog tour I had to wait till today to post it. So Toni Aleo is now one of my favorite authors. This woman knows how to write a hot romance story. Her characters are strong women who are independent, work hard and one day hope to find love. And the bonus part of this series is that it revolves around hockey. And who in the world cannot read a book around hot sexy hockey players.

So I suggest anyone who is reading this review to go purchase all 3 books in this series because they are fantastic. Toni’s writing makes your heart thump and blood flow fast, and it brought tears to my eyes, I fell in love with this entire series and all her characters. When you finish one book you want another, I am praying the next book is already written and being edited lol..... I will continue to stalk Toni so I know when it is being released.

So let’s talk about Empty Net, we meet up with Audrey (who we meet in Trying To Score) who is Fallon’s sister. Audrey has been in a relationship with Levy who is a total jerk, and we want her to end things with him instantly. This is hard for her as Audrey loves Levy but she knows he is not any good and their relationship is very one sided.

Then of course we are introduced to Tate (hot goalie), new in town and he is also mending his own type of heartbreak. In a change meeting Audrey and Tate end up meeting in a bar and spend the night together. Audrey and Tate both know that they are each other one night stand and really never expect to see each other again. Audrey is still hoping to patch things up with Levi even though her one night stand was out of this world she tries to forget Tate. She is shocked when she finds out Tate is on the same hockey team her brother in law plays for and tell Tate he must keep their meeting a secret. I cannot say too much more as I don’t like to write spoilers but I will say GO PURCHASE Empty Net!

This story is amazingly written, the turmoil that Audrey faces and has to deal with because of her relationship with Levy and secrets she has kept to herself makes her feel so unworthy of love it breaks your heart, I shed many tears for Audrey. Toni’s writing makes you feel for her characters like they are your friends; I think an author who can make your heart hurt from reading a story means that she is one great author. This series is fantastic!!

Empty Net is an adult read, Toni’s writing is superb, and I would read and buy anything a Toni Aleo writes. Empty Net is full of passion, romance, and heart break.

I have rated Empty Net a 5 star rating as that is the highest I can give this novel, but if I could give a 10 star rating I would. So what else can I write to encourage you the readers to go buy this book, besides a promise you will not be disappointed.

Empty Net is a honest, heartwarming, endearing story of two people that have by all accounts lost all hope of ever reaching a happily ever after. Audrey has never experienced a healthy loving relationship. She has been used and abused and discarded time and time again. She is insecure, scared, and she believes that she doesn’t deserve real love. The story starts out with her being involved with Levi. He is a complete and total asshat. He uses Audrey for sex. He tells her exactly what she wants to hear to be able to get her in bed, and unfortunately it works. She convinces herself that what she has with Levi is better than anything else she could find. Being with him sometimes, is better than being alone all the time. Then she has a fortunate encounter in a bar where she meets Tate, and he helps her to see life in a different light.

Tate is the new rookie goalie for the Nashville Assassin’s hockey team. He has just recently moved from Switzerland to the States. He was a hockey God back home and never had to work to get a woman. Now that’s he’s in Nashville, he is an unknown athlete and is way out of his element. Not only is he struggling to fit in with his new team and his new environment, he is struggling with the loss of his parents and his sister. He lost them all in an auto accident back in Switzerland. Everything is new to him and he is trying to put his life back together. When Tate sees Audrey from across a bar one night, he knows from his first glance at her that she is the one to help him be whole again.

These two do not have an easy road and they have to deal with a lot of personal issues. Audrey has several concerns that are allowing her to push Tate away. She is older than him, she can’t have children, and she doesn’t trust many people. I loved the honesty of emotions that Audrey expresses.

If you know of anyone who is in a crappy relationship and gorged with low self-esteem, they really do believe that what they have is love, when love is the last thing present. That is exactly what happens with Audrey and Levi. Audrey’s friends and her sister, Fallon, along with Tate, try to get her to understand that true love is not what she and Levi have. The more time that Tate and Audrey spend together, he comes to understand that she makes his life complete. He doesn’t feel empty when she is around. The only problem is getting Audrey to agree that Levi is all wrong for her. He has to let Audrey see and trust that he can and will give her the happiness she ultimately deserves.

I admire the characters in this story. It’s not a fairytale relationship. They are both struggling with their own flaws. It’s not about 2 perfect people meeting and hooking up. They both have blemishes and they have to learn to overcome and move on. It’s a true voyage of courage and trust as they each learn to lean and depend and ultimately love (the real heart and flower kind) each other.

I loved the way Lucas and Fallon’s story continues and is entwined throughout the book. It doesn’t smother the story line with Audrey and Tate, but it gives us a continuation of their lives. Each book in this series is so individualized. The smoking sex scenes are unique and fresh and extremely desirable. The plot lines are original and continue to pull you in from start to finish. Toni Aleo doesn’t just write a story. She gives you the ability to experience the journey of her characters right along with them. Her stories are enveloped with passion, emotion, humor, love; and let me tell you, that girl knows how to write a sex scene that just makes you sweat!

I can’t wait to read her next installment and see what she has in store for Piper in Blue Line.

Honestly, if you are looking for a book that is sexy, sweet, packed with romance, and gorgeous protective hockey players, you will absolutely loved Empty Net.(less)

I really truly love Toni's books. She's created such a great cast of characters. I love that each book tells a different persons story, but we still get to see glimpses of the old characters.

I think Audrey put a lot of pressure on herself as a result. I, like Audrey, do have a great relationship with my sister though. So, again, I could relate to her in that way. I've also picked some really crappy guys to be with (my husband being the exception). I loved watching Audrey find confidence in herself and find not only a true love, but the strength to believe in her dreams.

Tate Odder. Be still my heart. Could this guy be any more perfect?! Tate is such a genuine guy. It's impossible not to love him. I liked getting to know him. Even though he seems perfect, there is depth to his character. He's had to deal with some pretty devastating things in his life that have shaped who he is, not only as an athlete, but partner too. Tate is sexy, funny, sincere, and generous. I really couldn't have picked a better person for Audrey to love.

One of the things I love the most about this series is that, yes these guys are famous athletes, but they live real lives. They have the same relationship problems, if not more because they are athletes. They have insecurities and have made mistakes, but in the end are able to find a love that is true.

Even if you aren't a sports fan, I highly recommend you read this series. Toni is a true romantic and it carries through in her writing. I become so invested in her characters, that I really feel like I'm right there with them. If you like love stories that have some spice, then I promise that you will love not only this book, but the entire series! Definitely check it out!(less)

Move on. It's just a chapter in the past. Don't close the book. Just turn the page.

Audrey Parker is struggling right now. She has an abusive boyfriend that talks to her like dirt, cheats on her and treats her like an afterthought on his best days. Finally, he dumps her for one of his many other girls, but of course calls her for booty calls and mind games. She's heartbroken and finds herself falling for his lines when he calls her for only one thing. He gets out of her bed and walks away and she's left feeling hollow all over again. The only time she doesn't feel the pain is when she is hanging out with her friend Tate. She knows he wants more than friendship and she's super attracted, but how can she take him seriously when he's so young?

If you have read the first 2 books in the series and my review of them you know that I have had issues with the girls being their own worst enemies. Ms. Aleo seems to write her heroines this way. However, I never really got this feeling from Audrey. Don't get me wrong she had issues, but I totally related to her. I imagine people who haven't had a history with this kind of man won't get it. But, I get it. It is spot on describing the feelings and the things you tell yourself when in this situation. Well done Ms. Aleo!(less)

Toni does it again! The first two books in this series ASSASSINS and TRYING TO SCORE were fantastic books. EMPTY NET was not a disappointment at all. I mean there are hot guys and hockey, how could you not like that? Okay the story is great too...so it's worth it from beginning to end.

I'm coming into this series with just this book but I was happy to see it worked great as a standalone. I've had a recent fascination with hockey books and I find that extremely funny because, even though I would love to understand the sport, I just don't. I like watching it but I never last more than 30 minutes (unless I'm drooling over some hot guy) and I guess that all comes from not having someone to explain the ins and outs of the game.

But in my books I understand everything. Boy is a successful hockey player, boy meets girl, boy has lots of hot monkey sex with girl, boy falls in love with girl. EMPTY NET starts off pretty strong and fun. Audrey is at her sisters bachelorette party, gets drunk and brings back a hot guy to her room, planning on a one night stand. She had just broken up with a loser boyfriend and was in a bad place. Turns out hottie is the newest (and youngest) player in the team that her future brother in law plays for, as well as her new neighbor. Fate kinda throws them together and they can't help it but fall in love, and yes passing through the hot monkey sex part in which there might've been a very hot scene on the kitchen counter involving cupcakes. ;)

I felt for Audrey from the very beginning. She has been emotionally abused to the point where she would allow people to use her. She deserves to be loved and I think Tate does that well. Makes her feel cherished.

I'm usually not a big fan of older woman/younger man romances, especially when it's apparently so obvious he looks that much younger than her. I just couldn't completely buy into the OMG he's to die for hot when he's being compared to a sixteen year old. But what he may lack in manliness looking and age he makes up for in heart and actions.

As a couple I think they were great. I wish there would've been better resolutions to their issues, since they were important issues in a relationship. More than just "I'll walk away and think about it and then all of a sudden I see the light and everything is alright in the world again".

Even though I haven't read the previous books, I can already see that I would've enjoyed seeing them again in this book. Especially Lucas. He plays a good enough part in this story and I would like to read his story as it seems it was quite interesting.

I was not expecting the ending, there were a couple of twists there for me and I liked how everything seem to come together there. The relationships between Audrey's family and close friends, theirs as a couple and their plans for the future. Definitely an author I want to read more of.

Let me start by saying that Toni Aleo, is one of several new authors that I am totally in love with. I got lucky and found Toni a few months ago when I signed up for a blog tour. Wow, I loved that book. Even if there are some things who bothered me, it still a great book and the end is just amazing...

I have to say there were a lot of gramatical and spelling errors, but that aside, I'm loving each book in this series more and more.

Audrey and Tate meet up at the bar where Fallon is having her bachelorette party and end up having a one-night-stand without knowing who each other are. At Fallon and Lucas's wedding, they discover that Tate is Lucas' best friend and new Goalie on The Assassin's Hockey team and Audrey is Fallon's sister, as well as they have been living next door to each other for over a month, yet never seeing each other. I can understand how that happens with the horrible schedule these hockey players seem to have.

I know it happens, but I just can't get past the fact that Audrey would let Levi treat her an talk to her the way he does. She seems so desperate for love. Taking all his crap because she believed, deep down, that she didn't deserve a good man because she couldn't give him a child. She had some scaring and issues with her tubes due to an abortion she had when she was seventeen.

Tate is adorable and knows that he wants Audrey no matter how badly she thinks about herself, and even though she's almost seven years older. The fact that they heal each other, from Tate losing his family to a crash and Audrey not being able to have a baby and feeling she's not worth a good man, is so sweet. You can read their growth in every word in as the pages progress.

I felt at the end of TRYING TO SCORE that Levi was going to be trouble in Lucas' life. I wondered if he was afraid of Fallon coming into Lucas' life and find out that that he was taking advantage of Lucas. I felt it odd that he was upset that Fallon wanted to help Lucas learn to read. And I was right when it turns out that Levi is stealing from Lucas. I also didn't understand why they would allow him to be at their wedding. Even if Audrey was still dating him, he shouldn't have been there and the way he was treating Audrey, Lucas should have fired him when he was kicked out of the house in the last book. The fact that Levi was allowed to get to Audrey and hurt he so badly, I was shocked and clutching my mouth as he was hurting her. I was so invested in the characters and what was happening to them.

After Audrey is hurt, her father reverts back to his horrible ways. I don't understand how that man can be so cruel to his children. Audrey is almost thirty years old, obviously in a loving relationship, which her father should want for her. But what does he do? He makes Tate more upset by telling him he could have him removed from her hospital room. I was thinking Tate should marry her while she's in the hospital so her father could have nothing to say about anything.

I loved this one, it wasn't perfect, with all the errors, which is the only reason I didn't give it five stars. But I'm becoming a big fan of Ms. Aleo's storytelling. Sometimes the women are ridiculous and can't get out of their own way. And the men seem to put up with an unusual amount of crap and keep trying beyond what could be considered normal. But we can all dream that it's possible and I love that about these books.(less)

Sweet angels in Heaven. This book was beyond amazing. No kidding…I laughed, maybe snorted a couple times (it happens), I shouted at Audrey to get her head out of her rear, and of course with a ending like that…I cried. Oh my gosh did I cry. 12:45 in the morning and I am bawling my eyes out thinking of what just happened and what was to come. I was thinking heartbreak was sure to rear its ugly face again. Did it? Pssh, like I am gonna tell you. You have to read it to find out.

Toni can write some books, lordy can that woman write some books. In fact I was head over heels in love with Shea and Elli’s story (Taking Shots) I didn’t think any of her other books would come close to that kind of perfection. Yeah Trying to Score was good, but not as great as Taking Shots in my opinion. So I figured I would get a good read, a little (ok who are we kidding, A LOT of) steamy action, and Shea would still be reigning king of Toniland. Nope, Tate came charging in and dethroned Shea boy and now there is a new king in town. And let me tell you, I likey me some Tate.

Another thing I love about this series is the fact it is based in good ol’ Nashville. With me being only a few hours away, we try to visit often. So when Toni adds places, like the Opryland Hotel, it makes the story more real and come alive. And she continues to keep her old characters involved and they become like another family to the reader. And seeing Toni’s humor shine through in her work is another added plus in her books. Girl is something crazy and it shows.

So here is what I am thinking...there is about 30 some odd guys on the Assassins Team right? And roughly guessing from what I gathered in the 3 books about 10 are probably married and/or taken. So I am pretty confident Toni can stomp out another 20 stories for us readers. Yeah, no pressure…just keep the yummy coming, ok?

Empty Net is definitely one of my fav reads of 2012 so far and I am extremely excited to read the next book Blue Lines. And have a few theories that Hootie was none to pleased to hear about. So Toni...get to steppin' and get Blue Lines out in a hurry! *Pretty Please* If you haven’t done so already…READ THIS SERIES! (less)

Audrey is an intelligent and sexy as hell woman, one who's looking so hard for her prince charming, and she wouldn't mind if he was as perfect as her brother-in-law Lucas. Why can't she find a guy just like him? Too bad for her she's great at attracting jerks who treat her like crap and don't want long term relationships. But that's not the only thing, she seems to accidentally push away viable candidates as she keeps going back to those suckers who treat her badly. Is it that she can't find her perfect guy, or is she avoiding anyone that could be the perfect guy?
Tate's new in town and looking for a relationship. He feels so alone being so far from home, and wants someone to share stuff about his life with. One day at a club he finds the perfect girl, too bad she had to be his best friend's sister-in-law. That doesn't seem to be the only problem as the girl in question refuses to give him the time of day, playing it hot and cold with him as she drove him mad. He really thinks they would be perfect together, but how to convince her of that?

When I first read the 'Assassin's series' part, I got the wrong impression since it didn't work well with the synopsis and the vibe I'd gotten from the book. I was obviously relieved to know it's the name of the hockey team. I also just came to the realization that I love hockey books. Hey, who knew? I mean, I'd read a few before that I'd enjoyed, but this one just made it obvious that I am into hockey books.

Now, as to the characters, I need to read the first two books to appreciate the secondary ones well, for example, Lucas, I am dying to know more about Lucas! I also like Fallon and Adrian so I can't wait to get my hands on this book. But I did hate Audrey for occasionally going back to Levi when he treated her like dirt. I know this is a common thing that happens with most women, but I couldn't fathom it and hated how she'd preferred him to Tate - a man she was completely attracted to and was halfway in love with anyway!

Tate's background story was so sad and I cried at how emotional he got. I am starting to count a book an automatic success if it makes me cry. The only books that make me cry are ones where I am so emotionally invested, which means this book was very much a success. I loved it, and hated it and was all mixed up about it. Though technically I didn't hate it, I just hate that it was left on a cliffhanger and book 4 comes out in 2013.

I loved the writing. I am honestly declaring Toni Aleo one of my new favourite authors. I love her, and love family books, and now hockey stories. She fed all of those obsessions of mines in her writing, as well as the romance, the trouble and the intertwined stories. All combined with a great cover, how could I say no?

I am so glad I got a chance to read this book, I'll work on acquiring the first two books in the series as well, not to mention, I need some form of help to survive the next few months till 2013. I mean, I know the other books in the series sound good enough, but my God, the next one is the one I am rooting for, I am just hoping that what Toni wrote on her blog was just toying with us fans -yup I'm a big fan now - otherwise I'd die.

Tate Odder ,a Swede picked up by the Assassins from their farm team in Florida, is an amazing goalie and loves his new team family. Lucas Brooks (the groom at the wedding) is Tate's best friend and so he attends Lucas and Fallon's wedding even though he doesn't know many people there. When he spots the beautiful, curvy brunette walk into the room he is instantly smitten. Tate finally works up the courage to go talk to her at the bar and pretty soon they end up back in his room having earth shattering sex.

When Audrey Wakes up next to Tate she doesn't even know his name but she needs to get the heck out of there. Through a series of coincidences Tate and Audrey meet again, and again. Audrey thinks she should just take a break from men after the mess with Levi, her ex that dumped her the day of the wedding, and Tate needs to prove that even though he is younger he is ready to make a commitment to Audrey.

This is a stand alone book and while you don't have to read books one and two to enjoy book three I would suggest that you do.

What can I say this book has it all its fantastic tale of romance, sex, love and happily ever afters and all the ups and down and work that goes into making that happily ever after happen. The main characters lives are intertwined with the secondary characters to the extent that you learn all about them as well. The story written in such a way you feel like you are part of the lives of Tate and Audrey. You cheer for them, ache for them, want to strangle them and Love them. We have ice melting hot sex, fights, make ups, misunderstandings and finally Audrey's Prince Charming and her happily ever after.

I give this book 5 cocktails I would add it to my bookshelf of books to re-read over and over again.

All i can say is that I couldn't wait to read this book :)). the waiting part is killing me. seriously ^^. I just finished reading the first chapter and my golly it made me want for more, too bad that the book isn't released yet. (sighs). I'm not a fan of girls older than boys stories but for this book I will definitely make an exception :))

I've mentioned that I love sports romances before, and Toni Aleo definitely writes ones that I enjoy. I love how she actually includes hockey in the story, and how she alternates between the male and female leads....oh, and I definitely enjoy those steamy sex scenes, too...can't forget those. ;)

I've been really looking forward to Empty Net ever since I finished Trying to Score, especially after learning that this one was going to be Audrey's book! :D Audrey is Fallon's sister, and we met her in all her fabulous-cupcake-glory in the last Assassins book. :) She's quirky, fun, and all-around awesome in my opinion...her one downfall in Trying to Score was Levi...needless to say, he was the one feature of Empty Net that I didn't enjoy, although I definitely understood his purpose as the nasty, typical-a-hole type that Audrey dated in the past....scratch that he was by far the worst of the worst out of all the guys that she dated...so like I said, I get his presence. He makes Tate seem even more awesome when he appears, and they act almost like opposites to each other...so Tate=awesome, and Levi=not-awesome. Plus, Levi is creepy and Tate is Sexy...yes, with a capital S. ;)

Out of all of Toni Aleo's heroines in the Assassins series so far, Audrey is my favourite. :) She had flaws yes, and I'm sure her flaws will annoy you, too. They did annoy me, but I could understand where she was coming from, and what I loved most was that she evolved in this book. She moved past her flaws, and I felt like she changed, or rather her attitude changed, in the book, and that made me like and appreciate her even more. I also, as I always do with this series, loved seeing the past main characters pop up....especially when they end up being so happy! :D It makes me thrilled to get to see Elli and Shea popping out babies, and Fallon and Lucas continually arguing then of course, 'making up'. You don't see it in the same context as you do in their own stories, but it's awesome to get to see where these characters are, especially after going through some tough times with them. :)

Now...to the part I've been saving for last (after all...the best is saved for last, isn't it? :P)...the romance! :D I absolutely loved the romance in Empty Net! I loved how Tate and Audrey met, and how the tension was a lot different because they totally got their sexual tension out of the way....but, that didn't stop there from being tension, and boy...oh, boy, did that tension continue build as the story progressed! I also just have to say that I loved absolutely everything about Tate. :D He was adorable, yet hot and sexy at the exact same time...and I loved it! Tate's persistence was also something I absolutely adored. He knew that he and Audrey were good for each other...and he wasn't willing to drop it just because she was afraid. :) I also adored how Tate and Audrey both grew so much as characters...and mostly because of each other, it's one of the things that made them so great together...they were both awesome people, kind of happy...but not really, and then you put them together and they were even better! :D So...obviously, my favourite part of Empty Net was the romance between Tate and Audrey. I loved the emotional connection between them...and their physical connection, too...Tate and Audrey steam up the pages, and let me just say that no cupcake is safe in their presence (I'll let you infer about that as you will :P).

While this series has had editorial issues in the past, I definitely think that they were a lot better in Empty Net, and I've been told that they've been improved in the previous books as well. I actually think that this has been my favourite book in the series so far....although, I still have a serious soft spot for the first Assasins book, Taking Shots, and a serious soft spot for Shea...oh, Shea. *sigh* ;) I definitely recommend Empty Net, and the previous two Assassins books to sports romance fans, or to fans of HEAs who think that they'd be a fan of guys with sexy athletic bodies getting sweaty...and also sensitive, with their lucky ladies. ;)(less)

My heart ached for Audrey. She kind of got screwed. Having to deal with Fallon’s wedding to the perfect man and not having a good relationship herself. I think all women can relate to her protecting her heart and worrying about being hurt again. I really connected with Audrey. She was such an awesome character as were all of my favorites who made appearances. I LOVED the mentions of Temple Run and Storage Wars! I have Temple Run competitions with my husband and we watch the shows mentioned in the book! It just made the connection with the characters much more.

Down to the lovey men in the story! Lucas was amazing as usual! I hate Levi. I wanted to punch is sorry face in for most of the story. He’s just a nasty piece of crap! I was like “Audrey don’t text him back! Don’t call him!! NOOOO!!!” I guess I didn’t like him in book 2 either. Now on to my newest fantasy mad TATE! Holy crap on a cracker is he delicious! Men with an accent are like sex on a stick! I wanted them to get together so bad!! Every time they would flirt I was melting! They were absolutely adorable when they were together. I loved the scenes where Tate was in the net too. I miss hockey and it’s nice to have that kind of action mixed in. And from a Goalie’s perspective is completely unique to any other player. Men like Tate Odder are one of a kind. Will Audrey be able to look past her insecurities and finally be happy?? Read it people!!!

They both have secrets however, that could tear them apart. Are they willing to look past the age difference and the secrets??? I will not tell! You have to read the book! You will not be disappointed! I am so excited to see what happens with Blue Lines. Piper’s story should prove to be very interesting! Empty Net ended and I was like “Noooooo!” I need to know what is going to happen. I feel like I have become very invested with these characters and am hooked, which basically means I will read anything Toni Aleo writes. Well done! Amazing book! I only go as high as 5 stars on my blog but, I would give it 10 if I could!(less)

I fell in love with Audrey when I met her in Trying to Score. Being the youngest of 3, I can understand and relate to what she feels when it comes to her sister, Fallon. I simply love the relationship between the sisters. It's refreshing to read such love between family members. I also love Audrey for her struggles and her survival of them. Having been through the exact thing she goes through in this book; I felt for her in a way I haven't felt for a heroine in a long time. I felt every tear, laugh, success, failure and triumph that she went through. It was... amazing.

Then you have Tate Odder. So beautifully written and so perfectly swoon worthy. Toni hit this one spot on. I don't think a better person could have been written in his place. Tate is everything you would want in a male lead. Sweet, strong, compassionate, sexy, a freaking hockey player, genuine and committed. Having been dealt a not so good hand in some aspects of his life - he finds a home with the Nashville Assassins. His character is very profound and sometimes complex - but I think that makes him all the more appealing. A perfect match for Audrey if you ask me. I think he is exactly what she needs at this point in her life.

As always, Toni's side characters have just as much impact on her stories as the main characters. I simply love the fact that previous characters have a place in Empty Net. I don't think it would have been the same without them. These characters and this series have become so special to me, that I am so very IMPATIENTLY waiting for Blue Lines to come out. Its like a part of me is on hold - kind of stuck wondering where this story and these characters are going to go. STOP THE SUSPENSE MAN!

Sports fan or no sports fan - I think this ~~book~~ no; this series should be read by anyone who is a down right TRUE romantic (: You will not be disappointed.

This book has left me wanting so much more. I didnt want to end. Let me warn you it is much more heartbreaking than the others as i was left crying for a while.

I loved Audrey from the start i loved her in Trying to score and she made me love her even more in this one, but this is her story and her story is not so pretty let me tell you. Audrey is in love with such a jerk Levi and by the end of this book you will feel like killing him like i did, she is stuck in her family business which she hates. Her dream is to open up a cupcakeria, and oooohhh the cupcakes yummy :) Her sister is getting married to Lucas Brookes who Audrey calls Prince charming but she wants her own prince charming and Levi is anything but.

Tate is fairly new to the Nashville Assassins and also the youngest on the team, he has a family tragedy that he is trying to overcome after losing your entire family it is very hard to go on being who you once were. One of the times i was in tears was the time that he was retelling this story and it was heartbreaking.

Things start to change for both Audrey and Tate when they meet. Will Tate be loved the way he wants someone to love him? Will Audrey overcome all she has been through to finally find true love or will she let it escape?

Toni really makes you feel every emotion during this book you feel everything that Tate and Audrey are going through, when they cry you cry when they get frustrated you get frustrated. And let me say i never hated a man more than i hate Levi, i dont even think there is a name for him he is so messed up. He alone made me feel so much anger everytime his name was mentioned.

Well i guess you all have to read it and find out but damm you will not be dissappointed. THIS BOOK IS A MUST MUST READ !! I RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE!! it is hot sexy and damm heartbreaking and worth every tear you shed:) hope you enjoy it as much as i did..(less)

I love knowing when I pick up a book that I am about to experience something wonderful, and that's exactly how I feel whenever I start one by Toni Aleo. Her characters are real, the emotions are raw, the suspense is torture, and the steamy scenes are...well, they're just H-O-T, HOT!! I've been very impatiently awaiting the third book in Toni's awesome series, and she was sweet enough to send me an ebook ARC to put me out of my misery early (thank you so much, hun!!). Empty Net is Audrey's story, which I was thrilled about because I loved her when we met her in Trying to Score! Fallon is blissfully happy with Lucas and Aiden, leaving Audrey lonely and feeling like her life has passed her by. Dating a complete jerk her uses her when he sees fit, her self esteem is in the tanker and she doesn't see any way to make a change. When she gives in to a weak moment and spends a passionate night with the incredibly sexy guy she meets at the bar, she's determined to forget it ever happened and just figure out her life. But she can't get him out of her head, and when her one night stand turns out to be none other than the gorgeous new young goalie everyone's been talking about, Audrey is floored. Turns out she's been on Tate's mind ever since that night, too, and he is determined to break through her walls and convince her that he's the one she needs. This poor guy definitely had his work cut out for him, contending with Audrey's egotistical, cheating ass for a boyfriend and a big age gap that she wouldn't stop dwelling on. And once again, Toni's book was all about the journey they took, which makes it so easy to feel like you're right in the story with her characters.

I felt so bad for Audrey; lord knows it's never easy being the odd man out, and in her case she was not only left out but also with a miserable job and a man who treated her like crap. I was so mad every time she went back to that loser Levi, but he was so good at using her. I wanted to strangle him for most of the book, and in the end I wanted him to see a slow and painful end!! Audrey deserved so much better, and when Tate started worming his way into her life I was cheering him on at every turn! He was so incredibly sweet to her and mature well beyond his years, and HOLY CRAP could he turn on the sexy when the time came!! Lordy, my pulse was racing left and right over this man, he was too hot to handle!! I loved that he and Audrey matched each other so perfectly, they had amazing chemistry and the fireworks went off whenever they gave into their passion for each other!

Toni pulls out all the stops with the emotional rollercoaster in this story, I was such a mess!! And just when I thought I could take a breather, she throws in a twist that completely blew me out of the water and had my stomach in knots for the last several chapters...good lord, my heart broke for these characters!! I was captivated by Audrey and Tate's story so easily because these characters were really something special, and I loved every minute!!

Once again, I was SO happy to see our favorite characters from the previous books in the series. Ellie and Shea, Fallon, Lucas, and Aiden-it was like coming back to my Assassins family!! All of Toni's characters mesh so well together, and I just love that they are fully involved in each book. Fallon was once again awesome as Audrey's big sis, always there to kick her in the butt or give her a big hug whenever she needed it. Despite Audrey's feelings of being left out and left behind, she always knew that all of them would be there for her if she needed them. And I just loved Piper, she was just what Audrey needed for support and turned out to be a very exciting part of the story!! OMG the ending to this book, my jaw dropped and I was left screaming "WHAT??!!" Can't wait to see her story in Blue Lines, because I can already tell Piper's story is going to be epic!!
