Recommends it for: Horse Lovers, Misty of Chincoteague fans,
I picked this book up based on the pic of swimming horses on the front cover... reminded me of 'Pony Swim' of Assateague/Chincoteague Islands. This is the story of the hunt for the galleon that wrecked on Assateague in the 1750s, the most likely source of the wild ponies now found on the island. The book is well researched and offers an interesting look at how the 'treasure hunting' process works.

I picked this up when we were at Assateague Island a few years ago to learn more about the legend of the ponies there and they ship they came on. While it is part of the book it is rather a minor part of the story.

If you are interested in treasurer hunting, marine salvage or archaeology and the challenges of finding, recovering and protecting shipwrecks you will find this an interesting story.
