5 Spicy Stars!! O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?? He's in this book, and he's SCRUMPTIOUS!! I was captivated from beginning to end! My fan nearly blew up!! Yes, it was hot, hot, hot, but Jules and Romeo’s chemistry and the overall story is what made this read such a treat!! Romeo and Juliet you say?? Maybe your rolling your eyes and snickering…well don’t, because it worked and it worked VERY WELL!! I never once winced over the choice of names and w...more

There was a lot more meat to this story than I ever expected to find in an erotic romance. Kele Moon has told a wholly original, completely fleshed out story here, complete with some intense suspense elements, multiple (multiple, multiple) hot sex scenes, phone sex scenes, loads of dirty talking, rough touching, throw me around baby sex...and tops it off with a Romeo and Juliet star crossed lovers theme that will knock your romantic socks off!!! I mean, how much more romantic can you get than Ro...more

"Perfecting my wrestling and jujitsu is just the bonus. I'm coming to Garnett for you, Juliet."

Our hero is named Romeo, and our heroine is named Juliet. It was perfect for me! I love stories with outer obstacles so much more than when they create inner obstacles themselves! And mafia connections and families who hate each other are two a very tangible obstacle. I couldn't figure out how on earth they were going to get their HEA. But rest assure, they do!

Absolutely looooooved this book. Much better than the first in my opinion.

"Tell me you love me, Juliet."
"I love you, Romeo." The confession slipped past her lips like a prayer than than a confession. "Only you. Always."

Star Crossed is just… WOW. I can’t even find the words. Since reading an excerpt of Star Crossed a couple of months back, I’ve been excited about this book. When I finally got my fingers on it, I couldn’t wait to get started. First off, the hero and heroines’ names are Romeo and Juliet and the book is called Star Crossed [star-cross’d lovers ;) get it?]. This could go either way: an amazing book or a really bad and cheesy one. It was AMAZING!

I loved this one! The book was similar in theme to 12 Rounds (finished last week) but so different and so good! Both books were actually!

I dedicate this review to my significant other. This book made me remember some of the crazy antics that we got into during the early years of our relationship. Well, and it also reminded me of the fact that he usually lets me read while he watches MMA on television (unless there's a knockout - then I have to stop what I'm doing and watch it with him as he rewinds and reviews it 20 times). These are good times, my love. Good times.

Note : I did not read the first book in this series because I'd s...more

I liked it well enough but I didn't love it.

I had a hard time with the beginning of Star Crossed. Love me some great dirty talkers, however, Romeo and Jules didn’t achieve a place in my Hall of Fame. Was I ever a happy camper when everything got better shortly afterwards. I was truly wowed by their erotic encounter in Las Vegas. Holy smokes! I totally loved it, and I ended up fantasizing by saying to myself “Romeo, please eat me too!” Romeo was deliciously scrumptious and sexy as all...more

This book was much longer and layered than the last. There was a lot of sex which I kind of skimmed and I loved the romance. Romeo is the rival of her friend Clay but they spend one awesome night together and after that exchange texts and video chat. I love how strong Jules, lawyer, multitasker, Deputy, almost Olympian became Juliet for Romeo. She is no longer one from the Conner family, known for their bad heartbreaks. Jules has never fallen for anyone, unlike her brother Wyatt the Sheriff who...more

Warning – highly corny review alert but I just couldn’t resist!!

This is a truly brilliant and decidedly erotic contemporary romance built around Shakespeare’s most excellent and lamentable tragedie of Romeo and Juliet – a story retold so many times in history and brought right up to date here in this one.

Romeo Wellings and Jules Conner are our star crossed lovers – their opposing ‘houses’ being different UFC camps with a strong competitive rivalry. He insists on calling her Juliet after the firs...more

“I want this night to be special,” Romeo admitted, sounding embarrassed as he did. His gaze ran over her for one hot moment before he sighed. “I need it – something to make life feel like it’s worth living, you know?”

Two night ago Jules had been celebrating this man’s defeat. She had shouted in triumph when Clay laid into Romeo viciously enough to be crowned heavyweight champion of the world, and everything about the moment had been ama

I LOVED this one! Jules and Romeo were scorching hot! After meeting Jules and Romeo in book one I was SO excited to see where they would go in book two and I was NOT disappointed! I was hooked from the very beginning! I LOVE Romeo! It was a fantastic story with so many great characters. I can't wait to read more from this series!!!

Stark naked, still on her hands and knees, Jules grinned like the Cheshire cat. "Those are big-boy condoms." Bare-chested and barefoot, Romeo held out his hands and looked down at himself as if it were obvious. "I'm a big boy."

I really liked the first instalment of this series so was hoping for good things from Star Crossed. For the most part I really enjoyed this. It was a lot longer and more complex than the first book. The MMA setting is the same which is great for me because it was that which attracted me to this series in the first place.

The characters are great, Jules is feisty and strong, Romeo charming and seductive. I found their romance cute but if I am honest was put off by the whole Romeo and Juliet theme....more

As soon as I finished this book I immediately went to Kele Moon's website to find out when the next book was coming out cause damnit, I need it now! I loved this book even more then the first of the series, Defying the Odds. I mean first of all, it's pretty damn sexy. Every scene that Jules and Romeo are in together is just scorching with sexual tension. They definitely make a great couple. They had me laughing, fanning myself and near the end I had to read through some tears. I love the back an...more

Kele Moon is has definitely hit my radar as a solid erotic contemporary author. She has two series that I follow: Her Eden series which is a darker, bdsm, m/m/f and Battered Hearts, a more straight up erotic contemporary. (She also has one book in a m/m series that I’m keeping my eye on). She writes the dirty sex really well and gives us some interesting characters along the way.

Star Crossed is the second title in the Battered Hearts series. No, you don't have to read the first book in order to appreciate the second. However, its the first book that made me want to read the second and the third. And its the second book that made me interested in three other characters who I'm hoping get their own book. Moon is fantastic at supporting-character-intrigue without outshining the main characters!

At the very end of book one, I got a whiff of Romeo Wellings and Juliet Connor,...more

And WOW Romeo is completely amazing and delicious !! I was hooked right from the start..life could have stopped if I'd let it, though towards the end I just had to put it down to catch my breath and to try and prolong it as much as I could! This story is funny, sexy and completely addictive....

There are always books that surprise me with how good they are, because my expectations were so low, but this book did not disappoint. It was fantastic! I loved the entire story, even if it was more emotional than the last one. It was just right. Romeo and Juliet, this book was part retelling, part sequel, and a whole lot of sexy times! I think from the get go it was clear that the relationship with these two was gonna be hot and heavy. When a book starts with hot phone sex, just know that it is...more

After stepping in and saving fellow MMA fighters girlfriend, Romeo Wellings needs to burn of some steam. As much as he knows he should say no to Jules Connors offer for dinner, Romeo can't help but find himself intrigued by the confident women before him. This one was even better than the first one ,it was absolutely fantastic.
I loved it . The characters were unique , I don't think I ever read a book with characters similar to this one.
The writing was great , the story was compelling and H.O.T.There is usually something in every book that bothers but not in this one. There wasn't one thing that I didn't like about this one.

I hope the next book in the series gets published soon

This take on Romeo and Juliet I wish I had when I was in school it would have made for more interesting and compelling reading for all of us. I think even the guys in class would have loved this book as well. Romeo a UFC fighter with ties to the mafia what male wouldn’t love that and Juliet a badass attorney and part-time deputy, yes this is a Romeo and Juliet I would have not gotten the cliff notes on. Yes, I know it’s not age appropri...more

This was one seriously smokin' hot book. I loved it and as I usually do when I've found book a book that I can't get enough, I gush about it on my blog. But this book is not just about hot sex. Like the first in this series, the book is well written and edited; not to mention there is an intriguing conflict which was always getting in the way of our Romeo and his Juliet. The author's ability to keep me reading (even when I should have been sleeping!) and also get me to freak the hell out when ve...more

At first, I was a bit confused by the story's timeline. It starts with a prologue that takes place after the 1st chapter and then probably before like chapter 15. Mind you, the prologue was good. It hinted at why Juliet couldn't be with Romeo, but how she couldn't say no (to phone sex lol).

But I think that's where the sweet part really is. Though they live in different states, they kept in touch every day after they slept together in Las Vegas until he moved to her town for training. First, with...more

Review: WOW. Kele Moon’s second book in the BATTERED HEARTS series was even better than the first, and that’s saying something.

The only problem I had, and it was a relatively minor one, was the vague description of the dress Jules wears during a key scene early on in the story. The reader was left guessing what made the dress so special even though her brother and later her date, Romeo, both commented on the significance of her outfit of choice. The description came much later in the evening.

I wasn't prepared to like this one as much as I did. I figured that Jules and Romeo would be good for an affair, but didn’t expect them last. I think part of what made them did was how they were forced to get to know each other after their one night of hot sex, forced them to realize that they could have more than the sex.

I hated how Jules and Romeo felt like they had to hide their relationship from everyone. They were good together, but I felt like Jules when she yelled at Romeo for hiding so m...more

I received this book free via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I don't gush and give false praise – I don't believe that helps readers or authors so what you read is what I truly feel about a book.

A freckle-faced redhead born and raised in Hawaii, Kele Moon has always been a bit of a sore thumb and has come to enjoy the novelty of it. She thrives on pushing the envelope and finding ways to make the impossible work in her story telling. With a mad passion for romance, she adores the art of falling in love. “Tears sprang to her eyes as she hid her face in the place between his neck and shoulder and confessed what she’d known for a while now. “I think I’m falling in love with you.”
“Good thing,” Romeo choked out, his hold on her tightening to the point that it was almost hard to breathe. “’Cause I know I’m in love with you.”

“There's something wrong with that boy." Clay sounded mystified. "He's talented, ain't no one gonna argue that, but yeah... something."

Sweaty, tired, and sore, Romeo sat on the mat in the massive martial arts center Clay owned with Jules and Wyatt. While trying to catch his breath, he watched Tino move to the beat of his own drummer as he worked out using a punching bag. With white headphones in his ears, his brother bounced and danced and kicked at that stuffed sack of beans, and for the life of him, Romeo couldn't tell if he was trying to hurt the thing or date it.”
