Marti Hunter hates rockers and anything remotely related to the rock-and-roll lifestyle. She thought she’d left that all behind, along with her drug-addicted mother and absent-minded rock legend father. Now she lives with her grandmother, and Marti’s life is finally normal. Just the way she likes it.

For Adam Jamieson, normal is not possible. He is the genius guitar player...more

I actually finished this book the day after I started it. I've just been too busy to update Goodreads. I loved this story. I was always a fan of Rock and a Hard Place but this story was even better. It made me get flutters in my stomach, made me nervous, made me cry, and made me cheer. I highly suggest it!!

After I thought for a while about what I'm really feel about "Snapshot," I come up with this several things:

1. The plot of "Snapshot" isn't different form "Rock and a Hard Place" the first book of The Jamieson Collection. Two teenagers fall deeply in love (at first sight). They spend all of their time together but unfortunately they are forced to be apart ... the boy has to go on a tour (or whatever he has to do for a band) and the girl has her own conflict at home. However, even if the concept...more

This one's just okay... I tried really hard to love it.. but it's just not as good as Rock and a Hard Place.

Snapshot is cute, i give you that. The story was light. It's like watchng Camp Rock. It was all about being in a camp and finding new friends. Getting to know them and all that. Then enter conflicts, that's okay.. part of the story but, I just can't believe how careless these kids can be. That's the main thing that bothered me. I found the main girl to be downright annoying too. Adam was...more

If you enjoyed Rock and a Hard Place or any other books by Angie Stanton, then I'm sure you'll like this one as well! It's different from Rock and a Hard Place but unique in its own way. This story is about Marti Hunter and Adam Jamieson, and he's the youngest Jamieson.

This book is more cheerful than Rock and a Hard Place, and it's hilarious! I didn't cry my eyes out like I did in Rock and a Hard Place, but it's still a great book. I also love Angie Stanton's style of writing because it's so in...more

Instead of a traditional review I'll write my reactions to the book as I went along as I remember them.

Hmmm, I like the idea of the story. Summer camp and romance just sounds like a lot of fun. I'm not big on the rocker meets normal girl angle except that here it doesn't look like the kind I don't like- where it's a rocker bad boy. This boy sounds pretty innocent. Okay, it's cheap so I'll give it a try.

Liking our first glimpse of the main characters okay. I am finding that the auth...more

The story follows up, well, I don’t know how long after Rock and a Hard Place because it wasn’t too detailed at the beginning. But we do know it’s Adam’s, Peter’s younger brother, story. I just didn’t know how old Adam was because the author apparently forgot to add that to the beginning of the story. It’s a bummer to the imagination. Just like it was in the first story because I never knew how old the characters were until somewhere almost in the middle of the story. Even when Libby went to sch...more

I read the first book in this series, Rock and a Hard Place, a few months back. I’ll admit I’m typically not much of a YA fan and was hesitant about reading it. But Stanton’s writing style, ability to tell a story, and talent for plot pace quickly washed those worries away. I’m happy to report that her sequel, Snapshot, also holds the things I loved about reading Stanton’s work the first time around.

True to Stanton’s style, the book starts off with lively characters that you can’t wait to get t...more

I really liked Rock and a Hard Place, and had hoped for the same experience with Snapshot. While I liked the characters of Adam and Marti in general, I felt the storyline was trying to be too edgy for the age group represented. Seemed like it was written by a different author than RAAHP, except for the format and somewhat similar situations of Libby and Marti. One big "issue" that Adam and Marti dealt with that started at camp (avoiding spoilers here), I had a big problem with. It seemed forced...more

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! OMG WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!?!?!? Rock and a Hard Place was such a good book. I was reading it constantly and when I wasn't reading it I was thinking about it. Then I get to this book. *jaw hits the floor*. This book was definitely a disappointment compared to the first one. I did like it eventually but the beginning was sooooo.....typical. Rock and a Hard Place was anything but typical. This book actually became not typical once Adam and Marti left camp. Before that, it was just...more

The same tune, different lyrics. This is how I define Angie Stanton’s latest offering Snap Shot.

If you have read Angie Stanton’s Rock and a Hard Place, you’ll know what I mean. The whole plot is familiar but was given a different setting and set of characters: Teen-age Rock demigod meets a damsel in distress.

and the credit rolls

The Damsel in Distress : Marti
I love her name – it’s pretty unique and ear-catching. She’s ALSO abused – neglected by both her parents who were busy doing their own...more

Sometimes you just want a feel-good book where things work out just as you hope they would. This book did that for me. When you combine a beautiful young girl who despises the rock-star lifestyle and a young and hot rocker boy and then throw in a summer camp setting, you know something interesting is going to happen. My thought at the beginning of this story was how I would love to be young again…being kissed by a hot boy, behind a tree. Yes, there was an instant physical attraction between the...more

Snapshot, the second novel in The Jamieson Collection, was good, but not quite as good as the first book in the series. The reason that I liked this story less than its predecessor was because Snapshot was a little young for me. I really enjoyed the two main characters, Marti and Adam, but I had a hard time believing that they found "true love" at 15. I know that it's possible to meet your soul mate at such a youn...more

This was a cute book for sure. Some of it was a little unbelievable (view spoiler)[ like the fact that Marti's sister just happens to live in the same city that the band is moving their base to (hide spoiler)] but it was still a great book. Angie Stanton really made me feel for Marti - her parents are insane and i wanted to stangle her mother. I could feel her desperation for a stable, loving home once (view spoiler)[ her grandmother died (hide spoiler)]. Adam was adorable and had just about eve...more

I simply love Rock and a Hard place, it is truly one of my favorite books. Therefore, I was ecstatic when the most "Awesome Angie" placed a teaser of the Jamieson's family continuation, her new book Snapshot!

Snapshot's story begins with the youngest brother Adam attending a photography camp. He thinks a haircut, going by AJ, and being sans his famous musician brothers will help him blend with the other teenagers. Immediately he catches the attention of Marti. Marti isn't your typical teenager. B...more

sparks fly in more ways than one between Marti and Adam. They spend their time alternating between making out and driving each other crazy. But their summer adventures of skinny dipping, storm watching, and stolen kisses are brought to a halt when tragedy strikes.

Suddenly, they’re on opposite sides of the country, just when they need each other the most. Can Marti survive life with her dad and his vicious girlfriend? Will Adam get so fed up with his over-managed life and controlling parents that...more

Well Angie did it again.....I thought this book was just as wonderful as the first Jamieson book. I Loved Adam, I kept forgetting that he was only 16, I thought this book was well written. It flowed well. I didn't think this one was as an emotional read as Rock and a Hard Place ( I cried like a baby throughout that book) This one I laughed and felt the love, but I didn't think Marti's story was as gut wrenching as Libby's was. Not to say that both girls didn't go through a lot of hardship. Anywa...more

Okay okay. I admit its not as bad as I thought it would be. It still wasn't fabulous but it wasn't terrible and sappy either. I don't want to spend a lot of time stuck on every detail of what I hated and what I liked but, one thing that made the rating of this book go down a star is the fact that after Marti left camp, she nor Adam got in touch with any of the camp friends which they claimed they were so close to. I really didn't like that. Other than that it was minor things that bugged me. One...more

I enjoy reading first installment of Jamieson brothers, Rock and a Hard Place, so when I knew that Adam's story is coming next, I can't hardly wait to read it. But I'm not quite satisfied with the story. The writing was good but I can't connect to the characters and their relationship kind of too easy. It's like there isn't climax in the story and in the end I didn't feel anything when I finish it. Nevertheless I keep look forward for Garrett's story, because I think Garrett is the most complica...more

I enjoyed this books as much as the first in the Jeremiah Boys books. Ms. Stanton weaves a believable tapestry of a story. I hope she writes a book for the third brother, who after the first two looks to be somewhat of an ass. He and dad are classic Type-A's, which I have never much liked. Mom rocks though.

Ms. Stanton's also writes strong young women, who realistically seem to undervalue themselves and their strength even while persevering through the challenges life throws at them. all her ca...more

This book was cheese city. It started out with promise: summer camp! Cute boys! Flirting! (view spoiler)[But then Marti turned into a raging bitch for the stupidest reason ever. (Because Adam was a musician? Really?) (hide spoiler)] And then, cue the drama. So much friggen drama. (view spoiler)[Serious injuries! Unprotected sex and a pregnancy scare! Family death! Having a rock star as a father and a junkie as a mother! A horrendous fire! And so on, and so on, etc. (hide spoiler)] It was too muc...more

Normally I don't write reviews of books but I wanna say I did enjoy this book a lot, much more than 3 stars. However, this book was not that realistic for me. At least not anywhere near my reality. I found myself laughing, oohing, and awing at times but the constant battle for Marti threw me off for a little. What I liked about this book was that the main story and conflict wasn't wether or not Marti and Adam were together or not at the end, but the twist and turns both their lives took on the wa...more

Snapshot is the sequel to Rock and a Hard place (which i didn't really love or hate) and follows the youngest Jamieson brother, Adam and estranged daughter of a rock legend, Marti.

It was a really quick read and generally i thought it was good. They are initially at camp where Adam wants to keep his identity a secret so he can have a normal couple of weeks. There is instant attraction between the two but once she discovers who he is, her history with her father and the fact A...more

My thoughts
on fb:
Im a zombie. At least, I look and feel like one. Marathon reading does that I suppose - sigh - Stayed up whole night reading Snapshot by Angie Stanton and am functioning just enough to rave about this lovely book. Adam and Marti are so sweet together. Adam is every young girl's dream and Marti is a beautiful, vulnerable heroine. And it was just comforting to catch up with the first Jamieson brother, Peter and his heroine Libby from the previous book: Rock and a Hard Place. Now...more

This is a fabulous second book in the Jamieson collection that deals with Adam, the youngest brother. I really enjoyed Rock and a Hard Place and I wasn't disappointed with the next book in the series. Snapshot is a very entertaining story about Adam and Marti. They both share a love for photography and meet at camp where Adam just wants to enjoying some time away from his rock star life and experience teenage life. Marti has a rock star father and the last thing she wants to do is get involved w...more

I just finished this book with a happy sigh.

Angie Stanton is fast becoming one of my favorite YA contemporary romance authors! She is one of those authors that make you want to get your hands on every book they have written and hide yourself away from all responsibilities!

Adam and Marti's love story is so sweet but there is a depth to the charachters and story that make it go above and beyond your typical Rock Star Teen Romance. I thought this book was a fantastic follow-up to Rock and a Hard P...more

I didn't like it. I hated the way Marti stuck to her stereotype of rockstars even though she has known what Adam was like. She's such a hypocrite, not to mention stupid. The whole book went on and on about her not wanting to be pregnant after having multiple unprotected sex with Adam. What a dimwit. She should have just had herself tested and spare us the agony of reading her thoughts on the matter.

This book was sweet, I think I liked it better then the 1st one..I liked this brother better..it was a sweet story.., and even though both of these kids had to grow up early, for different reasons, I'm really glad that in the end it all turns out good for the both of them..but after 2 books, after almost messing up 2brothers lives, is anyone else wondering why the hell the oldest brother hasn't been kick out of the group, or off the tour buss or At least sent to his fricken room?? I mean what do...more

This was such a heart warming read that I couldn't put down! The characters found a place in my heart instantly and the writing was well done! Snapshot had me smiling at the silly normal antics of teenagers, feeling emotional through Adam and Marti's life struggles and had me sighing at such innocent everlasting love! I can't believe this is my first book from the author and am happy to say she is now an author I'm looking forward to reading many more wonderful stories of hers!

Angie Stanton never planned on writing books, she wanted to be a Rockette. However, growing up in a rural setting with her brothers' 4-H pigs as pets, dance didn't work out. Instead she became an avid daydreamer. After years of perfecting stories in her head she began to write them down and the rest is history.
She loves dipping french fries in chocolate shakes, all natural disaster movies and Br...more
