THE MARQUESS WHO LOVED ME by Sara Ramsey is an exciting Regency Historical Romance set in 1813 London. #3 in the "Muses of Mayfair",but can be read as a stand alone. See,"Heiress Without a Cause" and "Scotsmen Prefer Blondes". Nicholas Claiborne,Marquess of Folkestone is back and determined to destroy, his one true love, Elinor (Ellie)Claiborne, now, the Marchioness of Folkestone, who married his cousin. Ellie is a widow now and Nick has chased a would be murderer from India which brought him back...more
The Marquess Who Loved Me was a lovely read. Though there were some elements that I didn't like, I definitely enjoyed this book.
Let me just get the bad over with.
I didn't like Ellie. I though she was, excuse my language, a bitch. She could just me so mean. Years ago, she broke off her engagement with Nick so that she could marry his cousin, a marquess, in order to please her father. But, during the book, she was angry with Nick for some unfathomable reason. Right from the beginning, she acted as...more

The dress Nick had sent wasn’t a
dress — it was a fitted bodice and a floor-length skirt as
seductive as anything she had seen in paintings of the East.
The skirt fastened with a drawstring, the bodice with little
hooks down the front

I really love the stories of the muses of Mayfair! And now I'm looking forward to the one with Prudence because it is time!! Ellie and Nicholas were two strong characters, but the love they share is so big that in the end they can survive the pain they gave to each other. Love conquers all and this is good because that was exactly what I was expecting, but the road was hard and the feelings so deep and mixed that till the end the tension was high.

I love a good historical and this one was great!
In this third installment of the Muses of Mayfair series, Sara Ramsey introduces her readers to the life of Ellie Claiborne (a fiery heroine the way I like them) and Nicholas Claiborne (an irresistible bad boy).
Ellie is a merry widow and she's gone on about her life any way that pleases her. She doesn't care whatever the rules are, and were she not the way she is, she'd be an outcast. But, no. Not this Ellie. The ton gasps at her antics but there...more

I had a hard time getting into this story. The characters never really clicked for me and Ellie was just not a likable character. There seems to be some anger in her towards Nick when she is the one who ditched him and he should be the one that is mad. It seems so weird the way this story is written. Everything is backwards. The people who are mad at Nick should be mad at Ellie. The storyline of the attempted murder was so hidden it was non-existent. Whil...more

Great read. Loved Ellie's story! I'm so glad that she and Nick were finally able to move beyond their past and find the love they both had buried deep inside. I was sad when it was over because I wanted more. I really wanted to know all the things Nick bought for her in India and a scene of Ellie painting Nick now would have been awesome!

I won this through Goodreads first reads.
I really wish I knew about this series sooner. As soon as I started reading I wasnt able to put it down. I felt it was a good story line, fast paced and fully enjoyable. I look forward to catching up with the first two book and rereading this one.
I am very pleased that I was given this opportunity to this awesome book.
