Kevin knows his crush on his gorgeous but impossibly aloof boss, Marcus, isn't going anywhere. But it’s actually Marcus who brings them together when he appears mysteriously one night in Kevin’s bedroom. Marcus acts very differently outside work, feeding Kevin’s romantic hopes—until they’re back in the office and Marcus has no recollection of their tryst....

4.5, rounding up to 5 because Clare's such a great writer, as well as wonderful storyteller.

Thoroughly enjoyable story with a different take on the time-travel theme. I couldn't help loving Kevin right away and hoping he'd find out it wasn't all his imagination. Clare London's pacing in this was fantastic, giving just enough to hook Kevin (and readers) then pulling the mat out from under all of us. But she keeps the tension alive the whole time, and never bores or does the predictable.

This story had the best twist to a time travel plot, not only because it was one I haven't read before but also because it is a story of second chances without having screwed up the first chance. Sounds confusing, but it isn't. Told in first person POV of Kevin, an office worker who wears Joe Internet tshirts to bed (somehow that made me smile), we get an inside seat on Kevin's bizarre evenings, which involve the appearance of a man in his bedroom. A man who se...more

This story reminded me of another story I read that I liked a bit better but can't remember the title/author to. The story starts off with Kevin relating to readers that a man (who we soon find out to be Marcus) just poofs into his apartment one second and away another. Kevin and Marcus have a employee/boss relationship and Kevin doesn't even think his boss knows he exist so is a bit surprised to meet this dream/hallucination (what Kevin think it is) of his boss who treats him as a love...more

Mesmerizing is a good way to describe this very unusual and very cleverly written story. Like a riddle, or an unsolved puzzle, it starts out with some highly confusing events, becomes stranger as you read, and is finally resolved in what I can only call a very elegant way. I tip my hat to Clare, for using one of the most unusual types of 'time travel' in an extremely clever fashion.

Kevin is shocked when his normally aloof boss suddenly appears in his bedroom. Almost every night around the same...more

Ok, I really liked this one, the uptight scary boss and the hard to scare subordinate.
But things are not as they seem, boss is really a nice guy, but can't seem to break out of his mold and Kevin keeps having these very sexy dreams about said Boss! :)
But..for goodness sake Ms London would it have hurt you to put just a few more pages there on the end..come on...please.....pretty please? lol

A summary and a review coaxed me to read this. It isn't magical, to me: it's reasonably well written and structured, but the mysterious events didn't convince me -- I mean, I didn't find the explanation satisfactory, and I didn't think it made logical sense for the characters to act the way they did. It was okay, but...

Surprisingly, this is really an interesting to shorty. The writing style was pulling and mature; I liked the dialogues and dreamy short romance. I wouldn't mind reading more about this couple, because Kevin and Marcus would be an interesting couple. The story was sadly to short.

Really sweet, but I wanted just a few more pages. Not as in, this was so good that I wanted it to go on, but as in, it didn't feel finished.

Overall sensation on finishing = frustration.
