2.5 stars. Dear Lord, I didn't like Judy in this one. She is way too impressionable. OMG my teacher talks about rainforests and it being destroyed, let me take everything to the extreme and bother everyone and only make things worse! :| Sorry, but do you have a brain? Or do you not have one? Yes, rainforests disappear, that doesn't mean you have to act like this. :|

Judy Moody is a very funny and cool character. Number two was a bit funnier than this one, but it was enjoyable non-less.

I rate this book three stars. This book is very funny and while it is for younger kids I still enjoyed reading it again. I wasn't all that interested in it though. It starts with Judy Moody finding out that there is a contest for designing the new Crazy Strip band aid. She liked the idea that her band aid would be on the scrapes and cuts of people all over the world. When her class starts studying about the world and its environment she sets her attention on a new way to save the world. She lear ...more

I am currently reading Judy Moody Saves the World by: Megan McDonald! This book is both very interesting and persausive because it tells interestingly how Judy Moody saves the world. If you read it then you know how to save the world because it showed how Judy Moody did it! Therefore, it is persausive! Her class is on a what I would call a mission to find indangered insects and help them so they don't become more indangered. They each get a signed a insect and let me just tell you I was surprise ...more
Judy Moody is nothing if not committed - when she gets a goal in her head, Judy puts 100% of herself into meeting that goal. Sometimes that means she goes a little overboard though and when saving the world is your goal, that means trouble! Judy's teacher is doing a unit on the environment and conservation and Judy is determined to do her part - whether that means releasing her brother's pet toad into the "wild" or hiding all the pencils in her classroom so that the rainforest won't be cut down. ...more

i liked this book it gave some handy tips on how i could help save the rainforest. . A young girl called Judy Moody was shocked to hear about the corruption that happens in the rainforest(in s.o.s.e class) and was then determined that she was going to stop it. she started doing all types of things like collecting bottles, sorting through garbage and done things with her class etc.. she soon learns that it is very hard to get everyone to help but yet never gave up,her family and friends were soon ...more
The story begins with a design-your-own Crazy Strips Band-aid contest but quickly becomes focused on ways in which a third grader can help save the planet. It's full of third-grade science factoids and funny situations. At one point, Judy decides to live in her tree as an act of protest, until she is cleverly lured down by her younger brother with what he says are the results of the Crazy Strips contest. In the end, Judy and the rest of her classmates, with the help of their science teacher, act ...more

Judy Moody gets better and better. With each book I read, I am more impressed with the storytelling abilities of Megan McDonald and Peter H Reynolds. Their ability to capture family life, with all its quirks, is amazing. They also do an incredible job of capturing friendships and a child's enthusiasm for something that grabs their attention. And in this book, that is protecting the environment. It all starts in science class and the section on the environment.

Nobody plunges in with everything they have more than Judy Moody! Her teacher, Mr. Todd, is teaching the students about the environment and conservation. Being the extremist that she is Judy takes everything to heart that Mr. Todd tells them. She tries moving into a tree in her yard, returning her brothers frog Toady back to nature, and riding her house of anything that could have come from the rainforest. Her father's coffee and mother lipstick included. Finally an idea to help raise money to p ...more
Just like the image on the illustrated cover, "Judy Moody Saves The World" will encourage kids to stand strong and tall for environmental causes. Judy proves that tenacity prevails, as she fights the attitudes of her friends, school and family to make daily changes that will bring about community awareness, as well as protection to the rainforest. She succeeds in bringing the community together to accomplish her goals, showcasing the power of one and all, together. Recommended for readers aged 7 ...more

I enjoyed reading Judy Moody "Saves the World" by Meagan McDonald because she inspired me to Save the World. Judy Moody helped her environment by telling kids to turn garbage into dirt, turn the lights off when not using them, recycle homework, cans, bottles, and told us to plant trees. Judy Moody also wanted us to put the proper fruit peelings in the compost. Judy Moody encourages me to turn off the lights at school and at home, turn off the water at home and at Caliber. Lastly, Judy Moody insp ...more

We read this book aloud. The kids were really interested and we learned lots of new vocabulary words. It was about recycling and saving the planet.....Sam rolled his eyes ALOT whenever he was around and we were reading it. It was really heavy handed on we are destroying the planet. I was glad we read it aloud so we could discuss those things together.

I liked this book because Judy got inspired to save the world because she did not wanted any more trees to be cut down to make stuff so she did not make her mom use lipstick and did not let her dad drink a cup of cofee only 1/2 a cup. Also she wanted to win the band aid contest but her brother won it instead. I will recommend this book to my cousin because maybe she will like reading it.

A delightful little book for kids. Judy Moody and her little brother Stink are quite the pair in the ongoing series which my youngest students seem to enjoy. Every teacher knows a kid like Judy who always tries her best and wants to please people with some misguided attempts that cause her some angst with her friends and family but in the end the good intention does find its intended result. A good set of lessons for children in these stories told in an amusing and entertaining narrative.

While introducing the idea of "Save the Rainforest," the ideas of entrepenureship and having creative project ideas can be highlighted, as well.

Judy Moody is back, and she is set out to save the planet. When she finds out that everyone around her is hurting the rain forest, even by using pencils, she rallies up her third grade class to help gather bottles to be recycled to plant trees in the rain forest in Costa Rica. This novel dives into the act of teamwork and getting together for a good cause. It really shows how kids can get become active in their communities, and gives them the incentive to do better for the world. The plot was re ...more

Judy Moody is a third grader that wants to enter to win the band aid contest. The only thing that is stopping her is that she cannot come up with a brilliant idea that would have her stand out. One day when she was in class, her teacher was talking about the rainforest. Judy decided that she needed to do something to help save the rainforest. She goes around to everyone in her family and tells them that they needed to stop chewing gum, drinking coffee, and using lip stick because all of those t ...more

Judy Moody Saves The World is just one book in a very funny series revolving around a third grader, Judy Moody. In this book, Judy Moody's class was learning about the environment and how to save the environment. Instead of throwing everything away, Judy Moody's class learned the importance of recycling. She also tried to make her family stop using materials from the rain forest, but this did not go over very well with her family. Her family had a pet toad, when Judy Moody found out that a toad ...more

"Sometimes I think I am Judy Moody," says Megan McDonald, author of the Judy Moody series, the Stink series, and THE SISTERS CLUB. "I'm certainly moody, like she is. Judy has a strong voice and always speaks up for herself. I like that."

For Megan McDonald, being able to speak up for herself wasn't always easy. She grew up as the youngest of five sisters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her father, an
